Bing was recommended to me by my photographer (Shmily Photography). Before that, I had been looking…read morefor THE makeup artist for so long. If you ever heard from any social media, Asian makeup style is so different from a traditional American or European view: Asian girls are always looking for a natural glow, healthy, dewy skin with a just-right-nude makeup, no strong bronzing or big smokey eyes are ever expected. My friends and I had known many great and nice makeup artists from East Coast to West Coast; all of them were experienced on American style but not that familiar about how to dress up an Asian girl. They put too much heavy foundation and/or eye shadows on, and hence completely washed away the REAL and natural beauty on that person (i.e. everyone looked the same after makeup). I got to know Bingbing. the owner of BING Makeup. She has YEARS of experiences in professional makeup (wedding, engagement, cocktail, commercial, party, performance and so many other special occasions) in Beijing (China) and Los Angeles. The first time we met, she was doing my engagement makeup. She drove all the way from LA to my home in Irvine. She had a giant, professional, 3-level suitcase full of makeups and hair tools----yes, she also did hair styling with stunning accessories as an extra bonus----Bingbing knew exactly what I was picturing after a short conversation, and she did a PERFECT job. My makeup was never overdone but did highlight my face and uniqueness. Not even to mention how gorgeous it looked in cameras! She travelled with my photographers and me the WHOLE DAY for any touch ups, adjustments (for example, changed my lip color from a coral to a vintage red) and even helped me changing outfits. Even I was so exhausted after hours and hours of photo shooting, but she was always there so patient and nice in helping me! I told my fiancee immediately, I would love to have Bingbing as my wedding makeup artist in Hawaii this November; and he said :"Of course! It would be OUR honor to have her again!" Trust me, if you are looking for and/or you are so interested in a natural, glowing, beautiful style (both face and hair), go to BING! I am extremely disappointed with my experience and feel the need to share this because this was not…read morethe result or experience I expected after spending $300+. I originally came in with blonde hair because I wanted to return to my natural color. I was very clear that my goal was a complete color change to a much darker brown/black. I did not come in asking for a temporary gloss, yet I was charged $300+ for what I now understand was essentially a gloss treatment. Within only two and a half weeks, the color had significantly faded and the blonde underneath began becoming visible again. I was then told to return once the color faded -- but realistically, I am now expected to spend another $300+ every few weeks to maintain a color I originally came in expecting to be changed? That is extremely frustrating and, in my opinion, unacceptable. The reason I went to professional stylists in the first place was because I do not trust box dye. I have specifically been warned by stylists about the risks of using it, so I trusted the professionals to recommend and perform the appropriate service to actually accomplish my goal. What concerns me most is that I was never made to feel that a gloss was simply a temporary option that would require repeated $300+ appointments to maintain. Had I been clearly told that the service I was receiving was temporary and that the color would likely fade within a few weeks, I could have made an informed decision about whether that was worth the cost. I trusted the stylist to understand my goal and recommend the appropriate solution -- not to leave me feeling like I have to continually spend hundreds of dollars just to maintain the result I originally requested. Clients trust professionals with their hair, their money, and their confidence. That trust comes with an expectation of transparency about what service is actually being performed, how long the results are expected to last, and what ongoing costs may be involved. I am extremely disappointed with how this was handled and would like the business to take responsibility for explaining why the service I received did not align with the result I specifically came in requesting.

I think I texted her on a Friday for a Sunday afternoon appointment as I wanted to treat my mom to get her makeup done for a wedding we were attending as guests. Nathaly primarily (only?) works out of her studio in West Covina, so she won't be able to travel to you, but that worked out fine for us as we lived close by. Her studio has just enough natural light, was kept well-air conditioned, and very clean. I appreciate that she didn't rush and stopped periodically while doing your makeup to make sure she was meeting what you were looking for. I've had makeup artists look at my reference photos and give me something completely different, so I felt very heard and respected in my wishes. My mom does not wear makeup (like ever) and English isn't her first language, but Nathaly was really friendly and still made her feel very comfortable as she was doing her makeup.
