Especially in the summer, you can sit down with a ice cream or coffee and people spot whilst enjoying some of the free street performances. Some of the vintage bottles were in the ballpark of £10-12, mid-sized trunks and other vintage items were £50-100 (depending on what it was), while some more noteworthy items were several hundred pounds. I definitely recommend taking a look if you like vintage items since its a bit of a treasure trove.

The stock varies from biographies and historical artifacts (mainly right wing paraphernalia- a Daily Mail series on the modern monarchy, an enormous hardback on the Third Reich and a Thatcher biography) Amongst all the military-themed bits of tat, there are actually some very good finds- there were some cool old 1950s Christmas cards, some 1960s newspapers in excellent condition and some beautiful vintage postcards. It is a funny old place but definitely worth a rummage through.

Magnificent! I was…read moreafter a print of Alexandra Palace for my fella's birthday and was pointed in the direction of Storey's by my mum: "You must have been before - that little store just off St Martin's Lane?" Erm, nope! Well, Storey's certainly is a 'hidden treasure' and I can't believe it's taken me almost three decades in London to discover it. Boxes and boxes of original, rare prints, from London scenes to military and naval to old maps - it's a trove of gems and I could have happily spent the entire day flipping through the images. There were three men serving when I arrived and one helped me to locate a fantastic, large print of Ally Pally from 1875 that was exactly what I was looking for. I continued to explore and also found a smaller print of 1820s Covent Garden market from 1885 and one of the Globe Theatre from 1885. The prices vary wildly in price, for example the small Globe print was a reasonable £30 while a similar sized map of north London was £230! Yikes! Many of them are extremely rare original prints and engravings, so it really depends on their age I guess. As I've said before, size isn't everything! My purchases cost me a modest £150 without framing, not bad considering their quality and uniqueness! They provide a framing service here but I wasn't sure where we'd hang them so decided to hold on so I could pick an appropriate frame later. This really is a great place to come for a thoughtful and unique gift for friends, family or that 'someone special'... or even just to treat yourself! If I'm in the area and have time to kill I will definitely be popping back in for a look around - I could spend hours in Storey's!

There are a number of different stalls from antiques and and odds n ends to all sorts freshly baked and prepared food. There is a huge selection of Italian bread, dips, cakes and biscuits. The market is not that big but it's the perfect size in my opinion. I hate markets that are too huge, you can never decide what to buy but Northcote Road Market is small but perfectly formed offering you everything you need for your Sunday lunch to something nice to put on the mantelpiece at home.

"This is a hot mess."…read more A hot, sexy, shoreditchy, junky-treasure-filled, narrow, jammed up --- MESS. I mean this in the nicest of ways. Basically this is a storage space that is unloaded and reloaded for the flea markets. ANd we hit it on a day that it was "full." As in, nothing out to pasture to be sold. This mean we walked into a long and narrow space toppling with chairs, art, glamour shots, furniture, nudity --- basically, we stumbled into a hipster wonderland. The music is so loud you won't be able to talk to the person that is barely visible behind all the "junk." This seems to be by design according to their web site. It's a free-spirited shop. No organization, no price tags...and no way to really find out what things are or how much they cost. I guess this is part of the fun. We admired the action figure window display, flipped through a few of those ridiculous Glamour Shots, admired the cushioned headboard hanging from the far back wall that resembles a "moneyshot" woman -- and were on our way. Their website gives a great story. I wouldn't hesitate to stop in again. I'm pretty sure if I wanted to buy something they'd list out a price -- but maybe not. That's the fun of... a HOT MESS.

I…read moredon't know very much about antiques, and I am normally put off by the prices, but I spent absolutely ages in here: there was a lot of great stuff, mostly very affordable. The jewellery and accessories were especially good; there was a gold bangle watch in there for only £25. Upstairs on the gallery they had a few 1930's fur stoles, mink and fox for between £20 and £40. Cheap as chips, considering! Plus the stuff was all laid out nicely in cabinets. I'm definitely going to come back when I need to buy some presents for people. You could get something really special at a decent price.

Her first answer was that the books were "prop pieces" but that she would be willing to sell the book for £5. Wow. It was published in 1862. I am happy to have found the book and happy with the service in this shop.
