This is my first season playing Major League Bocce (MLB) and it will be my last. I've played 10+ seasons of Philadelphia Sports Network (PSN), so this isn't my first Philly team based sport. The first week was a sh*tshow. At the last minute they switced the times you were supposed to play. It started raining hard at about 5:30 and they sent out an email that the rain was going to pass (I understand they can't predict the weather). It rained even harder for the first game which was at 6:30pm, they had the game anyways, but cancelled the 7:30pm game. No one really showed up, so a bunch of teams got forfeits (mine included). Their excuse was that they didn't want to reschedule because the last game of the season is right before Thanksgiving. It's fall, it rains alot, perhaps give your season a buffer. I played a season of PSN where 4 of our 6 games were cancelled due to rain, we wound up playing all the way up until Christmas. Rain in fall isn't something new. Then for whatever reason the bar (New Wave) that was supposed to be partnered with MLB wasn't aware that we were playing and didn't have drink specials. New Wave was also a partner with PSN with no issues, so I'm going to guess MLB dropped the ball.
Fast forward another week to our 2nd week and since most of us were not there the first week, we didn't have shirts. So being a captain you would go up to the MLB employees (in black shirts) and ask them for the shirts. You would of thought we asked this guy for a million dollars. He comes back with this dickhead attitude of "yea, you and everyone else wants a shirt". Then was just generally a dick the entire night (don't know his name, was working on 10/8/15, heavier of the two guys that have beards). I'm guessing he was just tired of being asked that question, but hey, guess what? The first week was a monsoon and you're not providing any information so people are going to ask. Perhaps you need to find a different job not interacting with people.
Long story short is MLB needs to get their crap together. It's disorganized and aggravating, which is the opposite of what you want for beer and bocce. read more
