Not to be confused with the Lisa Dergan Expressway, which I wanted to ride many times but it never happened.
This is the pretty awesome highway, and a pretty embarrassing fact is that when I used to drive on it when I was a teenager, I used to actually think it was the Maj Deegan (because it's signposted that way for brevity, but not for Abbrevaty because it doesn't have herpes), and I'm not sure who Maj is, but I thought it was some kind of a sub-continental Indian name or Pakistani name, rather than what I assume is an Irish name. I was always happy that they had named such a multicultural city highway with an obviously multicultural name, only to find out that it was - as another review said - a white guy, which is predictable but was slightly disappointing.
Nevertheless it's okay and it's a good highway that when it's not too busy will whisk you through the Bronx and through the counties north of New York City without much trouble, but when it get's jammed up it can be really bad, and watch out for some huge potholes along here. read more
