But we went straight for the chocolate, and asked "le petite boit" of assorted dark chocolates, including a few local specialties filled with liqueur! The chocolates were fabulous, thereby, earning a spot on my list of chocolatieres in France. Go to the market, stock up on goodies, grab déjeuner, and visit the Bonbonniere for dessert!

We found this small shop while walking around Marseilles and stopped in on a whim. The ladies were incredibly friendly, offering us samples of their unique olive oil chocolate. They are multilingual and incredibly considerate of allergies. The shop has all kinds of unique olive-oil based chocolate, from chocolate coffee beans to lavender infused or coffee infused chocolate. I bought some chocolate covered ginger to take home for about $20. A little pricier but the olive oil chocolate was quite unique and very smooth. Lovely spot, would come back for some high end chocolate.
