Located in the Les Halles de Lyon indoor market, this small Italian shop offers fresh pasta to cook at home, cheeses, and a dine-in option. We went with the truffle prix fixe menu because I'm a sucker for anything truffle in Europe.
Food:
-Salad: This lacked presentation since it looked like something thrown together at home instead of a restaurant. It was just okay, nothing overwhelming.
-Truffle gnocchi: The truffle sauce was delish with a pronounced truffle flavor; however, I prefer gnocchi that are more tender and delicate. This was more on the al dente side if you like your gnocchi that way. Again, presentation could've been better since the pasta was served in a chipped orange bowl that felt like a sturdy plastic. It's not a big deal, but it's nice to have food that is thoughtfully presented when you're paying for it.
-Chocolate mousse: This was a dark chocolate mousse, which I enjoyed since it wasn't overly sweet.
Service:
-This is where this place shines. Our waitress happened to have studied and lived in Pennsylvania for several years, and she should be given a raise! She spent time translating the menu for us and asked the chef to sub gnocchi instead of the standard pasta they use. She even offered to get me a purse hook even though I didn't ask nor cared for one. She was just so sweet and friendly with great customer service skills! read more
