While Marché St Cyprien is the smallest of the 3 Toulousian markets and is decidedly limited in its…read moreproduct offerings, I have to say that my shopping experience was enjoyable - the sellers were knowledgeable, passionate about their products, and completely charming. I think the key thing to note for first-timers is that this is a (very) small market, but what they lack in size, they make up for in quality!
When I was there, I picked up two of the strongest local cheeses (one sheep's cheese, one cow's cheese), along with the local duck foie gras which is prepared with salt + pepper only.
The prices seem to be reasonable, in fact quite reasonable, for locally-grown and crafted products. I didn't get to pick up any fruit/veggies today, though expect to pick some up in a couple of days.
So happy to support local producers and businesses - it's a much more pleasant and authentic experience than going to the Carrefour or Casino Marché!
