As I am reading these comments, I am wondering whether we are talking about the same Main street at Conyers. I moved in mid-2012, the apartments were slightly above average especially for the price. The community was very diverse in demographics and race. Upon move in I did notice that the amenities they promised were not available, such as the computer lab and exercise room. Of course, this prompted me to join a gym elsewhere. For me, gym accessibility was not a huge deal. None the less, I have definitely felt safe there for the most part with no huge issues until late 2015. When I moved into the complex in 2012. It was definitely a working-class area, if you were home during work hrs. the parking lot would be completely EMPTY, which is generally a good sign that folks in your community are working and/or being productive. The staff members at the time was Tim who was the property manager, Tamra (who was awesome) and another woman who was fairly pleasant. I could honestly say in the beginning I was happy with the community.
Fast forward to 2016, this community is totally different. There is NO diversity. There are gang members on the property, I felt so uncomfortable even going to the laundry room, there were always randoms hanging out there, the gate is ALWAYS broken. Random people walk through the property (there is a hole somewhere in the gate where they squeeze through) and the worst thing ever, my vehicle was vandalized not one but 5 times on the property (right in front of the leasing office) causing over 3,000 in damages and breaking the windshield with a bat from whom I believe to be a resident on the property or an employee at Main street. I spoke with the property manager at the time who was Tim, he refused to accommodate me and provide me with a courtesy garage, instead I had to reach out to management who them agreed to accommodate. The staff members were so non-chalant about the vandalism and ironically, my vehicle was the only vehicle that was constantly being vandalized. I have a feeling the staff members are either the friends or family members of Someone at Main street, they were very clearly inexperienced and knew nothing. Often times, I called asking general questions and they would never have a reply.
Ironically, after we started pointing fingers, specific staff members relocated and are no longer on the property. As a resident, I simply felt extremely unsafe on this property and the staff members were of no assistance and EXTREMELY RUDE. I assume they are selective of which PAYING resident they choose to respect. I recently went back to retrieve my mail and the elderly lady in the office (Sharon I believe) refused to allow me to retrieve my mail. This community is going downhill, beer bottles all over, I remember once there was a sign that stated "Rent Due, Evictions will go out tomorrow" ??, this is when I knew it was time for me to move. Needless to say, Proceed with caution!!! read more
