We sat outside - which isn't all too appealing, seeing it's right on the street. But according to a few acquaintances, there's quite a bit going on during the weekend - including live music and drink specials. The menu was creatively written to accommodate locally sourced produce and everything we ate that day was fresh and seasoned excellently. The combination of ingredients in certain dishes -seems- questionable, but they're very well thought out. The Head Chef knows what he's doing, that's for sure! I had Pulpo with passionfruit polenta, broccoli & basil oil. The Pulpo was cooked *perfectly* - it had a buttery texture, and was brushed with a BBQ sauce and finished on the grill, giving it a Smokey flavour. The polenta had just the right amount of acidity & fruitiness to pair well with the Smokey Pulpo....and the broccoli was cooked just right with just the right amount of crunch needed to round out the dish. The basil oil was at the bottom of the plate, but wasn't at all bitter or heavy and added an extra visual touch. My guest had the salmon with asparagus and hollandaise. It looked delicious and it was mentioned the salmon was cooked just right - and the hollandaise was the best they'd tasted in a while. We also tried a dessert - I forget what it's called, and it honestly wasn't for me - but from what I tasted, all ingredients harmonized and the fresh honey comb on top was a nice touch. Creamy, not too sweet, chewy & well plated. I will definitely be back to try other things on the menu!!

I ordered from both sides and was not disappointed. I had the mushrooms in olive oil which were served in a flash but piping hot and fantastic. For dinner I had the schnitzel with black Forrest ham and fries. The food was just as good as the attentive service. The only word to the wise is the interior dining room is small that the many conversations can be overpowering to those who do not have the filter from having children. The walls are painted a beautiful emerald green and the furniture is modern and chic. I also am a sucker for finer details such as the plates which were unique and interesting. The owner definitely took time to create a modern steakhouse experience. I especially loved their music. They had an awesome mix of 60s, 70s and 80s playing in the background. On to the service. We were greeted by a well dressed waiter who was very friendly, professional and took great care in serving us. I have to say it was the best service Ive had in Germany to date. We ordered a variety of steaks. The filet mignon, prime rib and beef medallions. Each plate came with a side of either potatoes with thyme or house cut fries. It also came with a Cesar salad or a spring salad. The sides were delicious, especially the fries. Well seasoned and crisp. The salads were good but I didn't feel like it was really a Cesar salad. Being such a nice steakhouse, they could step that salad up a bit with fresh Parmesan, homemade dressing and crotons. Throw some flavor on it. The steaks were perfect. We each ordered medium rare and they were cooked accordingly. The steaks were beautifully made and tasted heavenly. The presentation of the meat was also very nice. We were definitely impressed. Overall I love Emma's steakhouse. It's a wonderful addition to Hanau! I am excited to go back.
