I have no complaints about the airport in Tampa. It's clean and comfortable with outstanding staff. Everyone from TSA to the ticketing counter staff, the custodial staff and the airline staff are all great to deal with. The shuttle is easy to get to and is spacious. Lots of restaurants, bars, eateries and shops. There's also more than one Starbucks, who could ask for more? read more

Tampa international is one of the most seamless and quick airports ever. It really doesn't matter which time of the year. I've traveled Christmas, thanksgiving, and after major events and it was always a smooth process. They recently made some improvements to the process and now the security process moves even smoother. There are not very many options in terms of food. Bar food restaurants and other restaurants like U le le, depending on the terminal. The blue terminal has a delta lounge. I don't believe there are other lounges at this airport. Overall I prioritize ease and this airport is very very easy. They do offer TSA Precheck, but they don't offer clear. read more

TPA was experiencing issues at the gate check-in near the tram. Passengers were trying to scan their phones and the electronic boarding pass barcodes were not scanning. Hands down the best airport - I consistently and reliably can walk from the express drop off loop, take the tram to my terminal, go through TSA Precheck security in 7 minutes or less. It's held true my last 4 visits here! Add in a few extra minutes if you don't have precheck. Overall, I think this is a pretty nice airport. I felt like security went smoothly, signs were placed well and easy to read, and there are plenty of restaurants and seats. There's a giant flamingo in the middle of the main terminal, which helps set the vibe. Lounge availability could be better - need a Priority Pass Lounge (not a restaurant) and/or an Escape Lounge. read more

If you are returning a car, make sure to allow extra time to take the tram back to the terminal. Then, it can be quite a walk to the tram to go to the gate. Our inbound was delayed, and we landed after midnight and had a long (15 min+) wait for the tram. Upside: easy to get in and out. read more

As a professional chauffeur I rate an airport on how easy it is to get in and out, how convenient the cell phone lot and the short term parking is, how long it takes for luggage to arrive, And how close and clean the bathrooms are! TPA gets five stars in all of these areas except for the luggage. It appears that they laid off a lot of baggage handlers during Covid and never managed to replace them all. Luggage takes an unusually long time to arrive for several airlines. But the good news is that they are getting better. read more

Tampa International Airport has come a long way... it's a state of the art modern airport which takes the hassel outta travel. Your car rental is convieniently a monorail ride away. TPA's kiosk allows you to check-in, print a boarding pass, check your bags and request seating changes, essentially automating most common tasks. You can find many great restaurants and coffee shops along the way to your gate. The terminals are spotless and well organized with recharging stations for your smart phone or laptop. Wow has this changed!! TPA is looking mighty fine these days. The gigantic flamingo in center court is beautiful and definitely catches the eye! Love how open and modern they've made this feel along with the updated seating which has made waiting for flights to arrive more comfortable. A great renovation....make sure get your bearings ASAP....I use the blocks of elevators on the walls.... both color and name hep you to gain a perspective and keep you from getting lost and confused isn the large open space that is main terminal. Also note: level 4 is the walkway from long term parking to the terminal and if you have an electric car there is usually 1 spot left right up front next to the walkway... read more

Main Terminal of TPA is clean, easy to get around, and has a good supply of restrooms and electrical outlets for charging all of your devices. I like that the rental car location is an easy walk from the terminal and has the various escalators to get directly to where you need to be. Personally I would like to see a couple of more watering holes to try out instead of the same one that is in Term C; but overall a nice airport and head an shoulders above the nations crappiest airport STL. I like the Tampa airport. The airport is set up with gates in 3 wings. Each wing has a large selection of resturants and ample seating and outlets. The airport is kept clean too. I like that they have 30 minutes of free parking. My family was anle to meet me inside instead of having to pick me up curb side. I wish more airports adopted this strategy. read more

I fly a lot. TPA is great with driving distance from city and just ok with parking. Not great, just ok. Security is fairly good (above average) in time spent waiting. Ticketing is just OK, in terms of waiting time. The airport itself is pretty good, but not open at late hours. Baggage claim? Abysmal. Larger, more complicated airports get their bags returned sooner. Similarly sized airports get their bags returned in fractions of the time. At over a dozen times waiting for my bags over the last 3 years, my most common waiting time is 35 min from getting off the plane. Sometimes it has been at 1 hour plus. Rarely, it is 20min. Seriously unacceptable. read more

Of course my flight got in after midnight. I take the public transportation back and forth. No buses are running this late at night. I go back to main terminal. And wait till 5:00am. No one bothers you and security is around. They do most of the big cleaning at night. Floors and bathrooms. I felt safe. I was in ticket area first 2 hours then decided to see if any of the comfy chairs were available. They were so I took a little nap. Comfy chairs are mostly on the gates levels that takes you to your terminals to planes.you can't go that way unless you have a ticket for a plane. It's good to know that when my family comes I can wait in the building for them. I also liked the fact that they let family members go in to claim their child that traveling alone and that you have to show I'd to claim them from stewardess. read more

I live Tampa Airport! Not too big, but big enough to not be congested. I live that you can meet (or leave) your travelers in the main terminal, like the old days. Free 1 hour parking right next to the main terminal is fantastic! After leaving your group of non-travelers, just a quick swipe of your boarding pass gets you onto a tram to your appropriate gate A-F terminals. It's also nice that there are sufficient eateries both in the main terminal as well as each individual terminal, with a nice mix of fast food, and sit-down. Thx airport is also very close to downtown Tampa, so it's great to be able to stop somewhere close by go eat if you want, and know that you are minutes away with no traffic hassles. This airport is my favorite, and I consider myself lucky to live hare! read more

Do not travel here! Was not advised to take my belt off and touched inappropriately! Horrible experience. Management did not seem to care.

The past three times I've flown through TPA have resulted in my flight being delayed multiple times causing me to miss connecting flights 2 out of the 3 times. This time there was only one runway even being used for arrivals and departures. I don't know if it's due to incompetence or just laziness but I will drive another hour to fly out of Orlando to avoid the dumpster fire that is TPA's scheduling system l read more

This part of tpa is must stop by! I stumbled over here by Mistake and I am happy I did! There's some really cool artwork and airport models here. There's a big timeline that goes along the whole wall talking about the years of history. The coolest thing was a model airport for things to come for Tampa international airport! It was just a rough draft but it was so awesome to see how many big plans they have for this airport and how great it already is. Next time I'm at the airport I'll be sure to check this area out to see if anything else was added on. I'm only leaving this review for the mean tsa guy who was yelling at everyone in line. It was total chaos, I've only flown a couple of times but usually tsa will guide you through. This man was yelling insults at people in line who were confused while trying to rush everyone else through. I don't know what kind of power trip he was on but he made the whole experience horrible and was not helpful at all. read more

Very easy terminal to get around. The terminal has a lot of shops to shop in. They have lots of charging stations to charge your cellphone and all electronics. There are good restaurants to eat in also. I would definitely recommend going through TPA. read more

TPA was way nicer than I expected. High ceilings so it doesn't feel claustrophobic with lots of people. The little shuttle from the plane terminal to the main terminal was quick and easy. I did notice a line for the women's restroom in the plane terminal but no lines in the main terminal. Our checked bag was already circling at baggage claim when we got down there (Delta flight from ATL). read more

So stupid food places close at 6:30pm. Some of us have layovers over night and have nothing to choose to eat from.

It was a total cluster having TSA check point at the outter terminal as opposed to the main terminal. So many bottle-necks. Once past security, we were bombarded with gate announcements. Every gate announces through the entire terminal. This left many fate agents talking over each other and confusion as to which gate was boarding all rows and which gates were only boarding first class. Finally, there needs to be several more restaurants for such a large number of "captured" people. The lines from the couple of restaurants that were open at 10:00 a.m. were extremely lengthy. I'll try to connect through another Florida airport in the future. read more
