That's because they keep it fully cooked in a warmer all day long on the grill instead of making it fresh when ordered like before. So when I came in today, I asked the girl at the register if I can get my steak made fresh in my burritos that I was ordering and she told me NO! The meat is already cooked in the morning and they don't make it fresh to order. She refused to make my food freshly cooked. She told me the owner will not allow that! They have to use what was already cooked for the day. They definitely lost my business and my family's business and I will also tell friends. No wonder there is nobody in the restaurant every time I go there lately. This place will be closed down soon because of no business because people would like their good nice and fresh and not hard and dry. I wish I can delete my Google review I gave 5. Months ago because this place went down hill from just 5 months ago. Also rude horrible customer service just because I asked for freshly made food. I wish I didn't even have to give 1 star because I walked out an unhappy customer. But I had to leave the review. HORRIBLE I went back in to tell the girl I left an update review and she was already reading it smiling, giggling showing to the two male cooks like she won a surprise lol. Childish and pathetic. She needs to be fired.

The appetizers were delicious, but we had to ask for plates and napkins because they weren't brought to the table. When our entrees arrived, they were placed on the table before the appetizer dishes were cleared, leaving very little room until we asked for them to be removed. The food itself was good overall. My husband really enjoyed his bison burger. When we asked for a box to take home the rest of his burger, coleslaw, and my leftover fries, we were given a container that was far too small to fit everything. Service throughout the meal was disappointing. Our water glasses were never refilled, and our server rarely checked on us. It appeared she was very attentive to guests she knew, while we felt largely overlooked. I completely understand that restaurants have busy nights, but every guest should feel welcomed and receive the same level of service. We truly wanted to enjoy our first visit because the location and waterfront views are beautiful. Unfortunately, the combination of the drink issue and the lack of attentive service overshadowed the evening. We left disappointed and, sadly, don't see ourselves returning.

Excellent burritos, I really like the steak burrito grande, Al pastor tacos. Working our way through the menu. Allow at least 10 minutes lead time for carryout of course. There's a small dining room in the back with maybe 6 tables. Not big, very small parking in front, maybe 6 cars but it's Wauconda. Even during the lunchtime rush it's not that busy but we hit it during the Ice Fishing contest weekend & two other people behind me. NO problem. I hope they put a table out in front in the Summer, decent view of Bangs Lake. Highly recommended by my realtor, he may own the place ;~). GOOD. No alcohol. Be there. read more

I feel like I only eat in Wauconda lately which is turning out to be a good thing. I love local businesses and try to avoid chains whenever possible. The only negative I have to say is they basically have no seating. A counter for four, however I feel it would be unfair to dock them on the size of there place. This is what you get: great take out place and if you are lucky may find a seat at the counter for lunch. Fresh mexican food served by owners who are appreciative of your business. This place is the best and thats a fact!! I have had alot of different taco places all over and this goldmine is in my back yard. Food is always fresh, decently priced and the owners are super freindly. Must haves in my book are beef or steak tostadas, steak or el pastor sopes and if you like it hot ask for the habanro salsa..
