While I'm not a person that camps out for the parades, I do love when I bump into one. The electrical parade was cruising the streets as we began making our way back to Main Street and it was so easy to get close for pictures. There were so many characters out that I couldn't pinpoint who wasn't there! The lights are beautiful under the stars and this is a fun way to end the night. read more

This is one of the main events at Disney. You have to stay for the parade. It's a must! I love seeing all the characters strolling down Main Street during the parade. They will trying to sell you all sorts of flashing toys and crap... mostly for kids haha! But this is definitely a must attend when planning your trip to Disney! read more

I know that parades have been paused during the pandemic, but I hope they come back, as this was always a favorite part of Disney trips growing up. When darkness hits Magic Kingdom, the Main Street Electrical Parade would start and light everything up. There are a lot of wild lights on dancers, floats, characters, etc. It probably only lasts about a half hour, but it's truly the best way to end a long day there. I grew up watching the Main Street Electrical Parade at Disneyland since the 80's. It made its very 1st appearance on June 17th, 1972; and I was sad to see it retire from Disneyland back on November 25th, 1996. Allthough since Disney's California Adventures was not doing well at the time, they brought this parade back from retirement to DCA on July 3rd, 2001 to try and attract more people into this park. They eventually closed this parade altogether in California back on April 18th, 2010. When I went to the Magic Kingdom in Florida this past summer, it was a thrill to see this parade again since I had not seen it in nearly a decade. It really brought back a lot of nostalgic feelings, emotions & memories. I've always enjoyed the Main Street Electrical Parade and it's still one of the best night-parades out there. It is outdated in its references to their Disney films, but the visuals & music will always be memorable. It doesn't matter how old you are, you will always enjoy this parade, especially if you grew up watching this as a kid. The really cool & unique thing is that they have a performance when the Magic Kingdom closes. It always feels very productive when all of the rides are officially closed for the night, but you can still watch a parade after their closing hour. Most parks will perfectly time their show attractions to end before or right at the closing hour, but not their Electrical Parade. The irony of all things is that this parade will leave Florida once again on October 9th, 2016; and it will be returning to Disneyland for a limited-time encore engagement. I guess no matter how many times Disney decides to retire this parade.., it always seems to reappear at one of their other theme parks. read more

Main Street Electrical Parade - Disney's Electrical Parade heading towards Cinderella's Castle! - Performing Arts Near Me - Orlando, Florida

If you have to see a parade at Disney, this is the parade you want to see. On my first trip to Disney a few years ago, I didn't see the point of the parades. Sure, my kids loved them, but I didn't see the point. Who wants to stand around and watch a bunch of kids dressed up like characters I have no idea about wave to you? How come they don't thrown anything? Then I realized that I don't really like parades where they throw you things either so I came to a conclusion. I don't like any parades. That being said, this parade is impressive. Float after float of electrical goodness are propelled down the street by hidden drivers. The amount of lights is impressive. If the floats weren't enough, all of the performers walking in the parade are lit as well. Not lit like back home, but covered in lights. It's really quite the sight to see. You do not want to watch this parade from the castle/Main Street area unless you scout out a spot well in advance. I suggest the Liberty Square area. In fact, ignore the crowds and stand towards the back by one of the designated open areas. The Disney minders will not bother you if you're to the rear of those areas and you'll have an unobstructed view of the parade. As soon as the parade ends, watch your kids. The crowds will be mass chaos and smaller children can get knocked over. You'd think people in the happiest place on earth would be courteous, and for the most part they are, but parades change people. If you're at the Magic Kingdom late at night, check this parade out. read more

As we were wrapping up our Disney World experience, it was almost time for the Main Street Electrical Parade. So we decided to stay and my boyfriend starts singing in this electronic voice and I give him my puzzled eyebrow, until the music starts and he knew the song. Blast from the past, the parade floats, music and characters - it's all the same as you ever remembered. It's exciting and will turn anyone into a fan. If you missed the characters around the park, they are all just right there to see on your way out. I'm standing lining the street, dancing like a kid and waving at the characters. It was quite the finale to the best Disney day of my life. read more

They used to have this parade in the Anaheim Disneyland when I was a kid, so it was a pleasant surprise to see this at the Magic Kingdom in Orlando. It's pretty much a parade with everything covered in little light bulbs and while that might sound silly it truly is not. It's honestly a sight to behold. You need to try and get seats as early as possible as there is always a large crowd willing to watch it. It doesn't last very long, but it's worth it as it's something you don't often see. You'll also see a large assortment of of Disney characters on the actual "vehicles". It's awesome. read more

The Main Street Electrical Parade is still around and as far as I'm concerned it's the only parade at MK anyone must see. It's just as I remembered it and fortunate for me the streets were empty as it was a weeknight. The lights are bright and the characters are either riding in the parade or greeting guests on the ground. This is one of the few times you can see the Seven Dwarfs so it's not to be missed. Check days and times before you go as they change now and then. read more

A classic. The Main Street Electrical Parade hasn't changed much since I first saw it way back in the day with my folks. However, it's still a great sight to see, and of course, little kids absolutely love it. And, since it's routinely packed, I assume a lot of adults love it too. If you want to go to the park for some rides and attractions around 9pm when the parade begins, and you don't want to see the parade, be sure to go a bit early so you don't get caught up in the parade watching crowds. With most paths being closed off and the masses clogging up every possible spot, you're bound to be stuck around Main Street for the duration. For potential parade watchers, If you don't feel like staking out a seat on the floor an hour before it commences, I recommend watching it from just outside the train station near the stroller rental. We showed up exactly at 9pm and had a great spot to see everything. read more

While it's a rare occasion I'm in the park to actually see this fantastic night display, when I am it's worth every second. The Main Street Electrical Parade is a sight for all ages. The amount of lights on each float is staggering. I can't even begin to wonder the amount of power needed for each one. This parade is towards the end of the park day, so if you have little ones, I suggest trying to find a spot near the train station up front. The mass exodus that occurs as this parade wraps up can be overwhelming and causes some major crowds on transportation out of the park. read more

Nightly Warmup to the Finale The Main Street Electrical Parade (which has a rather long route) is the pre-show or warmup to the light show and fireworks spectacular the finish off a wonder evening at the Magical Kingdom. You will be a wonderful electrical parade of floats of your favorite characters riding on them or being the floats themselves (some characters I barely remembered). Everyone plays their roles perfectly (even the ones who are barely visible). My favorite float had to be "Pete's Dragon." The sheer size of that float is jaw dropping. The creepiest had to be the giant head (I think it was a character from Pinocchio). The only thing I really disliked was the music. It is very fun and upbeat, but it's a very short loop and brings you one step closer to the brink of madness. Just imagine the song from "It's a Small World" only for a longer period of time without lyrics. The Electrical Parade is a Must See! It is a nice start to what will be a truly magical finale. I HIGHLY suggest arriving about an hour before the parade starts. Get a seat on Main Street or preferably in the circle directly in front of the castle to get an excellent view of the fireworks as well. *Note* You will not be allowed to stand in certain sections due to fire safety standards and the need for people to be able to walk around. Stand behind the tape placed on the ground and you shall be fine. If you can try to get behind the statue of Walt Disney, I highly recommend it. Hat Losing Scale: .0001/10 Who knows? Probably the least exciting of the parades I saw on my visit, this is one reserved purely for the night, and filled with characters and dancers dressed in little LED lights that filled the parade route. Seven Dwarves, Alice, Cinderella, a prince on a dragon, and some random ones (Big Ben, American Flag at the end), and loud, somewhat off signature music. They'd be better off with something from the movies? Happens once before the fireworks. read more

Prob the best parade that disney has. My boyfriend always talked about this one and I had never seen it. He was so bummed that they "got rid of it" and now that they have recently brought it back, he was so stoked to share it with me. You have to line up early to get a spot, but worth the wait. The floats are really fantastic. The best floats in my opinion were the Alice in Wonderland floats. Very detailed and the music is very cute too. read more

After a long fun-filled day at the park, it was like sweet icing on the cake ... Now that I am grown, I still get the same feeling whenever I see the bright lights and hear the music to this timeless parade. I soak up every last sight and sound.... it transports me back to Disneyland, standing on the sidewalk watching in amazement (mickey-ears tilted to one side, a green mouse shaped balloon in my left hand and a mickey ice cream bar melting down my right arm...). This parade makes me feel like a little child, who's biggest dreams can come true.... read more

The happiness brought tears to my eyes and that is not an exaggeration. The music, the lights, the characters... I am already a happy person on a normal basis, but Disney gave me endorphin overload and the tears came of their own volition as a result. The beautifully orchestrated light show, with the dancers and all the familiar and beloved characters of my childhood, will definitely put the goofiest grin on your face. The children proudly clad in their Disney costumes is also a nice touch. Watch those children create their own happy memories while you are creating your own happy memory with your child. My childhood! The moment I heard the music, I was transported back in time! I watched the entire parade from a lovely vantage point and be-boped around as the floats passed me by. You're never too old to enjoy Disney's Main Street Electrical Parade. It's a classic that leaves you smiling, even as you exit Disney amid the tired and weary crowds of people. It was worth the wait to see the Disney characters and princesses parading down the street. My 6 year old daughter loved it ... and about 10 minutes later went off to la la land, drool and all, as she feel asleep with a beautiful smile on her face. Priceless! read more

Skip the daytime parade. You don't need that unrelenting heat and the costumed characters you can see elsewhere. The only parade you need, and I don't mean at the Magic Kingdom, but the only parade that needs to exist in the world is the Main Street Electrical Parade. If it's a weekend, or any busy time, grab a space on the parade route 30 minutes before it starts. It's so bizarre and perfect that I don't feel like my description could do it justice. Let's just say that the drug iconography of Alice and Wonderland that kicks off the parade feels apt. read more

So my wife being the Disney fanatic she is, was going to make damn sure that we attended the Electrical Parade, as the night we attended would be second-to-last night. After that, it would leave Disney World. So it was a cute parade with multiple Disney characters. Both they and the floats, have many lights on them. What's especially cool is all the lights are turned off along Main Street USA up towards the plaza in front of Cinderella's castle. It was a lot of fun actually. I am so glad that Disney brought this parade and that they left it JUST AS IT WAS! A lot of kids might not remember all of the characters featured in the parade but it has a wonderful air of nostalgia to it... Just as I remembered it! The music, the floats, the noises. It's all there. My favorites were the Pete's Dragon float who on the command of Razzle Dazzle will "disappear" and the Peter Pan pirate ship. Make sure you don't miss it. This is easily the best parade in Disney ... in fact, it's the only one I ever bother watching. I love Disney, but parades are not my thing. That being said, how can anyone not get chills with this opening ... that somewhat terrifying robotic voice after the mechanical fanfare ... "Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls ..." Not worth the wait. Compared to Paint the Night, this parade is "low energy", I mean REALLY low. It becomes monotonous with the same music and basic lights. People around me started leaving. Even my 3 year old wanted to leave halfway through and he loves Disney. I think this parade might be suited for those really nostalgic and 8 year old girls who know all the words to Frozen. What would make it better? Perhaps throw in some Storm Troopers, Vader, and some light sabers. read more

This parade was the ending to the perfect day! It was so nice to sit and watch Alice and Tinker Belle go by as I ate my ice cream! It's nice that they have the parade twice a night so if you're planning on doing other things you can still watch. This parade is as vintage and tired out as it gets. Yes this parade is fun and whimsical but it has been playing for far too long and hardly draws a crowd. I'm usually able to find a spot right when it starts. Maybe because everybody has seen it already and is tired of seeing the same thing. Half the floats never work and the whole thing is just not impressive or eye catching anymore. Went to Disneyland and was blown away by their Paint the Night parade. The Main Street Electrical Parade should be pretty self explanatory. It is a Parade that starts on Main Street goes around the statue of Walt and Mickey, past Cinderella's Castle and then back into Liberty Square. On days when they run 2 electrical parades the second one follows the route backwards. That is just the basics. Here is the meat of the Parade, Lights, Music, Characters, and did I mention a ton of blinking, strobing, flashing lights? Tink starts out the parade of 35 plus floats big and small. Then comes the Blue Fairy, Mickey, Minnie, Goofy, Cinderella in her Coach, and far to many others to list. From light up snails, centipedes, and turtles, to Pirate Ships and dragons. The finale at the end is a salute to the good old USA. This is a must see when you visit the Magic Kingdom. The Daytime parade is fun, but if you can only stay for one parade, make it this one! Get your spot at least and hour before the parade starts or you will end up peering around some 6 foot 6 guy. read more

So Dissapointed with this parade. All my life I would go to disney and the beautiful spectromagic parade would make me end every day at the magic kingdom in tears of joy. Everything about specromagic was incridible but what I think made it a great experience was the soundtrack. The spectromagic soundtrack would capture every aspect of Disney World and turn into one spectacular symphony. The day I came to disney to see disneys electrical parade was the day my dreams were crushed right before my eyes. The parade was shorter with smaller floats AND HAD THE WORST DISNEY SOUNDTRACK I HAVE EVER HEARD IN MY LIFE. In what way does this soundtrack capture the essense of disney? When did it become okay to replace an emotional symphony to a clumsy annoying cluster galactic sounds!
