We RAN past so much at rope drop, when I finally got a chance to look around I recognzied so many iconic rides from my previous trip as well as the new ones. My favorite ride in this area is peter pan. Lifting up over the set is so cool, then across the way is It's a small world, another (long) but must-do ride. 7 dwarfs rollercoaster is here as well and under the sea..just so much to do, so much to see, its only a 10 minute walk to everything really. Fantasyland trends towards younger kids and families. We will always walk by for It's a Small World; however, we skipped almost everything else. The lines were too long for little payoff. Tron: this is an adult ride, and it isn't made for people with thicker legs and bottoms. Seven Dwarves: this coaster is fun, but so quick, and there's nothing memorable about it if you've already conquered other rides. The line is often so long. Also find Winnie the Pooh, Peter Pan, Little Mermaid, Prince Charming & his carousel, Dumbo, Mad Hatter's tea party, and a couple of shows. Young kids? This is your spot and you'll likely spend a huge amount of time here between the attractions and crazy long lines. read more

This review is for Fantasyland at Magic Kingdom at Disney World in Florida. It's good. It's a classic, core area that sits within Magic Kingdom and is home to the park's iconic Cinderella Castle and original, old-school rides like Mad Tea Party, Dumbo the Flying Elephant, "it's a small world," and Peter Pan's Flight. Most of these opened during the park's early years in the 1970s. When I think of my trips to Disney World and Disneyland as a kid, Fantasyland is one of the first areas that comes to mind. I think Fantasyland is geared more towards kids and particularly girls due to its fairytale focus and the types of attractions (e.g., Casey Jr. Splash 'n' Soak Station). Like other parts of Disney World, new rides regularly open over the years at Fantasyland. I recently rode Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid, which opened in 2012. The latest major ride to open is the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train (2014) and the latest attraction is the Smellephants on Parade "search-and-sniff" interactive scavenger hunt in Storybook Circus (2024). Fun fact: The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train actually has some of the most advanced animatronics in the park. The dwarfs' faces are projected from the inside, making them a bit "uncanny valley." read more

Fantasyland is located in Disney World's Magic Kingdom, right past Cinderella's castle! Fantasyland is one of the largest areas inside Magic Kingdom. There are plenty of attractions inside Fantasyland and you could easily spend half of the day just in this area! Of all the "sections" at Magic Kingdom, Fantasyland probably has the most attractions of them all. My personal favorite part of the park is Tomorrowland in my #1, but I think Fantasyland comes in right at #2! My favorite parts of Fantasyland are the Little Mermaid ride, Mickey's PhilharMAGIC, and it's a small world! And of course, Fantasyland is what Cinderella's castle is technically in as well, so it's also probably the biggest land of all the ones in Magic Kingdom! read more

Fantasyland is the Magic Kingdom's version of Kiddieland with a few rides thrown in for adults to enjoy. Set behind the Cinderella castle it encompasses a lot of the park. It has been expanded to include part of what was once Mickey's toontown fair. Starting from Liberty Square the first thing you see is Rapunzel's tower. There are restrooms here and charging stations for your devices on the tree stump seats nearby. This tower was rebuilt from what was Walt Disney's last attraction to the New York World's fair in 1964-the skyway to Tomorrowland. Nearby is the popular Peter Pan's flight and It's a small world attractions. As you head towards the center in back of the castle you will find Prince Charmin's regal carousel and Mickey's philharMagic show. A couple of shops line the entrance to the back of the castle which is your only access into the great hall inside. Nearby is Cinderella's fountain where you can "wish upon your dreams." Heading to your right of the carousel you will find the "many adventures of Winnie the Pooh" and the highly popular coaster known as "the seven dwarfs mine train." This ride replaced Snow White's scary adventures and is indeed an extremely long wait to ride. You can get priority return if you purchase lightning lane plus as an add on for this ride for each member of your party. There is a new area which replaced the long unused 20,000 leagues under sea submarine ride. This area is called "New Fantasyland." This area is divided into two sections-"the enchanted forest" and "storybook circus." Here you will find attractions like journey of the little mermaid, enchanted tales with Belle, barnstormer, two "Dumbo" the flying elephant rides, and the Fantasyland station of the Walt Disney world Railroad. Closer to Tomorrowland the tent enclosed "mad tea party" with the revolving tea cups rounds out the attractions. There are some meet and greet character opportunities here as well as photo opportunities. You can meet Ariel at her grotto and other characters at Pete's silly sideshow. It is no wonder that the most sought after restaurants are in this part of the park. Check out the "Be our guest tavern" with mural from Beauty and the Beast. You may even spot the beast make an appearance in the main dining room now and then. Cinderella's royal table is in the castle itself and is very hard to secure dining reservations. There are however a number of places where you can get food. For example enjoy pizza at Pinocchio village house, Counter service is also available at Gaston's tavern for snacks and drinks. Also around are storybook treats, Cheshire café, and the Friar's nook. The bibbidi bobbidi boutique which is a girl's princess dress and makeup store is set to reopen sometime in late Aug. Fantasyland is a great place to walk through and take in the sounds and sights of the Magic Kingdom. One word: Iconic. It is very hard for me to pick a favorite Disney Park - if I have to, I would pick Magic Kingdom. Even harder is picking a land within MK, but I think Fantasyland would be up there on the list. It is hard to beat the place where kids young and old can experience so much joy and whimsy! Right behind the iconic castle, this area of the park is dedicated to the classic Disney characters and movies. Here is where you'll find Peter Pan, Snow White, the Tea Cups, the classic carousel, and more rides! The vibe is very much that of vintage Disney and the rides will bring out some nostalgia for the grown ups. After meeting Tinkerbell, we headed straight for Fantasyland. Surprisingly it's not that busy in the morning even though I expected families with young children to gravitate here first. It's easy to go from one ride or experience to the next in terms of both walking and wait time. We didn't bother with the mine ride because it's insanely busy all day long but I don't even know where the queue began. Somehow crowds aren't as much of an issue here despite the plethora of attractions in such a small area. There's a lot of good brunch options in the area: cat tails (chocolate chip filled pastries) at Cheshire Café, or croissants and cinnamon rolls at Gastons. It's bright. It's colorful. I remember when I first visited Disney World, it was back in 2001. I thought the Magic Kingdom was going to be an exact replica of Disneyland's Magic Kingdom including Fantasyland; however, I knew the castle would be different because I've seen several images of the Cinderella Castle through the internet and on television. When I entered the Magic Kingdom, I was in awe of the castle; it was huge! The castle stood so tall and was gorgeous! It was so much bigger than the Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland! I didn't know what was inside the castle but I wanted to explore it. In my mind, I believed that it was going to be a castle walkthrough and tell the story of Cinderella, not true but, I did learn that you can stay at the Cinderella suite and receive tours of it while visiting the park. Before entering Fantasyland, I looked at the guide book for their attractions. I noticed they did not have the following rides- Alice in Wonderland, Pinocchio, Mr Toads Wild Ride and The Storybook Land Canal Boats; bummer! Fantasyland was sufficiently smaller than Disneyland's Fantasyland! The first thing I did was approach the castle. I tried to walk in but I was stopped by two hostesses asking me if I had a reservation. I quickly looked in and I saw that the castle was a restaurant! I told them I did not have a reservation and I quietly left and entered Fantasyland. The look and feel of Fantasyland was quite different from Disneyland's. The rides were more basic looking and less decorated too; even the teacups were in a tent! Far less attractive than Disneyland's version but still fun and beautiful too! I was excited to ride an attraction that I have never rode before; the Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh which was brought to Critter Country in Disneyland years later and I also rode the usual attractions of Peter Pan, Snow White (which was recently replaced with the Seven Dwarfs Mine Train), and It's A Small World. I heard Fantasyland was recently remodeled; I'm excited to see the changes this year when my husband and I go to Disney World this coming June. Fantasyland is still magical and amazing and it brings out the kid in you and it is also a great place to see your favorite characters! It's the most crowded area in Disney World, and for adults many of the rides are lame, but still - if I moved into Disney World, I'd pick a place in Fantasyland. It's just that Fantasyland is exactly what you think of when you think of Disney World. Everything is small, cute, and clean - except for the actual kids, many of whom are large, messy, and loud. :) Due to the fact that the rides here accommodate small kids, it's in Fantasyland that you'll find the longest lines. So, get there EARLY and hit what you can. Also, remember that some rides load faster than others. Use your Fast Pass for the ever popular Peter Pan's Flight, and catch a show while you wait. Mickey's PhilharMagic is truly wonderful! Grab lunch here, and find a table or bench to sit at while you watch the folks riding the carousel. Most of all, if you're here as an adult, remember that you're on the kid's turf. Try to stay back and relax (this will be tough if it's hot and especially crowded). The heart of what you think of the Magic Kingdom when you're thinking princes and princesses - lots of classic stories, the Prince's Carousel, Meet & Greet w/ the Princesses, and more. There are serious problems with Fantasyland. Very long lines. Slow rides. Not enough shade. Not enough benches. Too many german sausages. Too many people. The people riding the Small World ride demand too much waving from the diners at Piccochio Haus. (This last point quite serious.) Not enough Mickey to be honest. You can spend a whole day in Fantasyland and not even see Mickey's face. (Except on like a million t-shirts.) read more

Even after two visits to Magic Kingdom park I find it hard not to compare it to Disneyland. That being said, when you look at Fantasyland holds a certain magical quality all its own. This area is one of the crowded places inside any of the Walt Disney World parks. Lines are long and at any given point in the day you'll likely hear at least 10 kids screaming at a time. This was my first time at Disney World, and at 22 years old, better late than never. New Fantasyland is cute. Since it's only in the preview stages, the rides and attractions are currently limited, but a few were open. There was a photo op with Ariel, and the lighting in that room is simply fabulous. On four different cameras (both phone and point-and-shoot), it produces really great shots. We also visited Ariel's Under the Sea attraction, which was cute and an animatronic ride. We visited the Be Our Guest restaurant, as well, and WOAH. It was seriously stunning. From the gargoyles at the pathway to the castle, all the way to the numerous room, sweeping ceilings, painting, tattered drapes, the Ballroom... All of it was breathtaking. I really can't wait to visit this when it's been entirely revamped, and starts serving food. Also, fully operational was Gaston's Tavern, which served Le Fou's Brew in a large takeaway glass mug for I think either 8/9$. It's "a no-sugar added frozen apple juice with a hint of toasted marshmallow, topped with all-natural passion fruit-mango foam in a souvenir goblet." One of my friend's got it, and shared it with us, and yeah, it's was pretty good. Gaston himself was outside, posing next to the fountain, which I thought was a cute little touch. The bathrooms are right around the corner, and have the cutest little marker's for male and female. The male has a little pitchfork in his hand, and the female has a cute little apron. Sexist? Certainly, but Disney is all about glorifying gender stereotypes. And besides, it really is a cute little touch. The Dumbo ride isn't here at the moment, though I think it will be brought back again, and neither is the Teacup ride, but a few other additions are under construction, including The Seven Dwarfs Mine Train, which seems promising. read more

Nice and neat attractions. It help, it's a new place and new attraction, but the layouts of the new buildings are great and spectacular. I take a star because I think is a bad space used the two machines in Dumbo ride, and they eliminate some cool stuff. The attraction are for kids from 2-8 years. Use fast pass for now, because long lines is a common thing in new attractions. Fantasyland, I love you the best! You ARE Disney! You are magical! So many rides in such a small area makes this the most fun you can have per square inch on Disney property. OK, I am sure that you thrill-seekers out there are really screaming in disagreement right now, so, sorry! Disney is to be applauded for keeping It's A Small World fresh and new by remodeling it, but at the same time, being so careful not to lose any of it's historical, classic flavor. Another big thumbs up goes to the addition of Philharmagic, which is a world-class production. There's so much construction and change going on in Fantasyland right now, that I expect to not even recognize it the next time I am in the park. I am so excited to see what they are developing. From what I understand, things will be opening up in phases, and this project is going to take a couple of more years! How exciting! My guess is that Tomorrowland will be next because it really needs a facelift badly! I guess it's kinda like decorating your house...once you do something, you see the next thing that needs it, and so on. Pretty decent, but those rides get really crowded! The two biggest attractions (at least line-wise) in Fantasyland seem to be the Dwarves Mining Ride and Peter Pan's Flight. I've gone on both rides at Disneyland in California and just really don't see what the big fuss is about. My fiance and I decided to prioritize and went on the rides and did the attractions that are actually exciting to use -- -Mad Tea Party (loved those spinny teacups!) -It's a Small World (not as exciting as the one at Disneyland, but still fun) -Be Our Guest restaurant (we diner there for breakfast) -Mickey's PhilHarmagic show (LOVED this!) -Pinocchio Village Haus (dined here for lunch) -Cinderella's Royal Table (we dined there for lunch on a separate day. LOVED it!) I will review the attractions separately and write more details for each there. Overall, Fantasy Land is fun. Some of the rides have insanely long lines, but overall its nice. And you get a really lovely view of the back of Cinderella's Castle from the center of this part of the park. read more

Fantasyland makes every story from our childhoods come true from walking through Cinderella's Castle to flying through the sky on Peter Pan's Flight, there's bound to be something for everyone. It's a small world is one of a handful of classic Disney rides that hasn't been converted to something else. It will be a sad day when that happens. I love waving up at the kids eating their lunch as the boat departs. Mad Tea Party is fun, but if you don't like the feeling of being dizzy, this one isn't for you. It's also fun to try to take pictures while on this ride. The person is clear, but the background is whizzing by. I ate at Cinderella's Royal Table eons ago when I was on a school field trip. The chaperone for our group had made reservations so we lucked out! Like many of their seated dining options this one can be hard to get a reservation at. Sometimes you luck out by showing up the day of and seeing if you can pick up a cancelled one. So much stuff to do in this section of the park and now that they've actually rearranged the stroller parking, you can get through the area pretty easily. I'm usually a fan of Fantasyland, but it's under construction right now, and there's not as much to do there at the moment. The tea cups and Dumbo are here, but they're pretty basic carnival rides, and if you don't have kids, I wouldn't recommend bothering unless there's no lines. I do like the new Philharmagic, and the classic Small World, but the lines are usually so long for these, that I skip them for better rides in Tomorrowland. It'll be exciting to see what it looks like once they finish construction. read more

the happiest, and yet the most hectic part of Disney World. If I had time, I'd ride everything. But usually when I walk through here I'm focused on dodging rogue strollers, circumventing parties who have unfortunately thought it was okay to stop everyone in the middle of the walking path as they look at a map (seriously people, move over to the side near a building!) and trying not to lose my own group. But when late afternoon rolls around and the kiddies go back for a nap, this place begins to shine like it should. The Disney Castle brings out a mystique that makes you feel like a kid again. The fireworks, light shows and parades certainly excite the kid inside everyone! When you visit this park, make sure to pick up a "program" with the schedule of all the fireworks, parades and light shows. I recommend to see each at least once! Bring a camera! Take advantage of the "speed pass" to avoid waiting in lines in the most popular rides. Walk around and see which rides have the smallest line and knock them out ASAP and get "speed passes" for the rides that the apparent long lines.
