The robot calls start twelve months out when the appointment is due and they won't make an appointment when i leave the last one--which means i see her every 18 months. Since i need a script for a mammogram, that also gets pushed back to 18 months. The reminder robot calls are made at the end of the day when it is impossible to use the reminder to pick up the phone and use the reminder. ( I used to fill out a reminder card that never got mailed.) When she went out on her own, she automated. I now have to have a password (yet another!) to get the results of my annual pap smear and the robot calls pester me to do so. The office assured me that they would call if all was not well with the test. My daughter also goes to Dr. marlino and the system couldn't tell us apart because we have the same home phone number. An annual exam is supposed to included in the almost $6000 i pay after tax for health insurance for just me. I was charged for the visit because the doctor wrote me a prescription, but I was not told that at the time. (And i couldn't afford to fill the Rx) This had a double sting as I had been unemployed for more than a year and there was no warning that I would be charged. I called to question this bill. The billing specialist in her office said she would ask about that but i never heard back. (It's been about a month.). I don't really begrudge her the office visit co- pay--i am just frustrated in dealing with the business side and the fact that the charge was disclosed by invoice. It is up to me to be vigilant about every business aspect of this office--appointment setting, test results, monitoring what I say to not be charged for a "free" visit and making sure I get my insurance card back from the front desk at the time of the visit. So far the quality of the care has been worth the aggravation. I keep telling myself it is only once a year--oops make that year and a half. Very impersonal business side for a very personal business.

I have very modest religious beliefs and wished for an all female team with the delivery of my first child they wouldn't make arrangements or offer me any form of advice on the matter. I even went on to explain that beyond religious beliefs I am a rape survivor and having any type of male doctor triggers PTSD episodes with me and that I should be able to be protected because of that, they offered little solace. The CRNP I saw sat there and watched me cry as she said nothing can be done, I may as well get a midwife and do a home birth. (nothing against midwives or home births, I'd prefer a hospital in case of emergency). I would not recommend this place to anyone who as a paying patient has any concerns or requests or thinks that they have the right to determine the care they receive, as a woman and as a patient.

When I had to sign in, no hello, no acknowledgement, no one available to ask if I was at the correct office. After sitting there for 15 minutes, the receptionist calls me up to the counter and asks who I am, and I ask if this is the correct office and she asks who my doctor is. After I tell her she states she has no idea who that is and she cant help me bc Im not on her list. I then ask again if it was Mainline obgyn, to which she states "There are signs, so no its not, I can't help you ". Its loud enough for every one in the office to hear, so I embarrassed, walk out. Yes, it was my mistake, but Im glad I chose another OBGYN over this place.
