I usually arrive a few hours before my appointment time, so I have no complaints about wait times. I first became a patient of Dr. Downie 16 years ago when I was living in NJ and her office was at another location in Montclair. I needed a doctor who specializes in the treatment of African skin, which easily scars and hyperpigments. A few customers in my hair braider's shop recommended her. Dr. Downie successfully treated my melasma because I have not since had a recurrence. Dr. Downie is both my medical and cosmetic dermatologist. I drive over and hour and a half from Eastern Long Island to see her. She has performed on me many cosmetic procedures, which beautify my skin. I use the skin and hair products she recommends. My scars have reduced significantly, and my hair is now growing like wildfire. I have never received more compliments from strangers about my image. All staff are friendly and professional. I will continue patronizing Image Dermatology because of the stellar treatment that I get here.

Two weeks ago, I had my lips dissolved with my preferred specialist, Monica, and booked a refill appointment for October 4 at 12pm with Kelly (since Monica was out of office). I started my commute from NYC to the Verona location, but found it odd I never received a reminder -- so I called, only to learn that my appointment was never actually booked, despite scheduling it over the phone 2.5 weeks ago. They managed to squeeze me in later in the day with Megan. However, when I arrived just five minutes past their 10-minute grace period (after calling ahead to let them know I'd be slightly late), I was told I had missed my appointment and the most she could offer was a conversation -- not the actual service. I found this incredibly disappointing and frustrating, especially given the effort it takes to travel from NYC without a car, and the fact that I've been a loyal client for years. It's unfortunate to end things on this note, but I can no longer recommend Montclair Rejuvenation Center after today's experience.

His medical assistant, Ashley, was a delight. Her manner and knowledge of medicine was impressive as was her explanation of the steps involved in the exam. Enter the charming and personable Dr. Abbate. Smiling and warm doctors are my favorite and Dr. Abbate did not disappoint. Not only was his exam thorough and his knowledge exceptional, his chairside manner was the best! I went there for damaged fingernails caused by acrylic nails and a fungus. I left with the feeling that I was in good hands.

TLDR; He missed something he should have caught, or at the very least been more professional about…read more --- Wow, I'm actually genuinely surprised to see such positive reviews. I had a mole under my eye that had started bleeding. Of course I googled, and everything I read said go straight to dermatologist. I found Dr. Gold and made an appointment for a skin exam. He glanced at my Mole with the naked eye from about 2 feet away and said it looked fine. Since I had read that bleeding was a problem I asked how he knew. He replied 'how do you know how a website works?' (I'm a web developer.) Meaning, I'm a professional, so don't question my judgement. He told me it wasn't a problem mole, but I could have it removed for cosmetic reasons if I ever wanted to. Long story short, about a year or so later my sister kept complaining about how disgusting it looked so I decided to get it removed. Thank goodness Dr Gold didn't take my new insurance so I went to a different professional to have it removed. She looked at it with some sort of magnify thing and seemed to have an immediate feeling that out was probably going to test positive for being a basal cell. It hadn't grown out changed much since my visit with Dr Gold. It tested positive and has been surgically removed. EVEN CRAZIER, I was telling this story to a co-worker and she was telling me this story that happened to her about 10 years ago where she went to a dermatologist and the guy had just a big know it all attitude and told her she was wasting her money to do a skin exam because she was Italian. Turns out, THAT WAS DR GOLD TOO.
