I have been a client of "Maid For You" for well over two decades. The first problem I had with Holly was when I was stranded in Houston due to a flight cancellation and was unable to return to Bellingham in time for my scheduled cleaning. United Airlines grounded all 737's, due to problems with their manufacturing. Holly informed me that she was going to charge me half the cleaning fee for the late cancellation, even though it was completely out of my control. She pressured me and due to her threat, I was able to get my niece to allow her workers access to my home in my absence. She had to take time off from work to do this and lives across town in Bellingham. Because I was satisfied with the cleaning service up to this point, I elected to not press this further. A month and a half ago I informed her that I would no longer be needing monthly cleanings as my children are no longer living at home. I left Holly a text message in this regard and texting was the means we communicated. Her workers showed up anyway on what would have been my schedule cleaning day. I informed them of the above and they left with an apology. To my surprise, I was instructed to provide evidence that I had indeed canceled the monthly service. Proof was provided! Yesterday I received a bill for $50 for canceling their service. This absolutely made me livid and prompted this negative review. Proof was once again provided. This evidence was attached to her statement charging me $50 for the late cancellation. She has been informed that I have no intention of paying this $50 fee, via return mail along with an additional copy of the text message, requested that cleanings would be done on an as needed basis. I own an ocean-view vacation home in Blaine Washington (since 2014) and I am so fortunate to have found Holly's Maid-For-You house-cleaning team 3 years back! She and her crew are always responsive and reliable. The house is always thoroughly cleaned (4200 sqft, two-story, with two giant decks). They are always ready to accommodate special schedules (during the peak months, the same-day checkout and check-in only gives them 5 hours to do a great job). Since I am remote most of the time, Holly would always update me with the supply shortage, maintenance issues, guest damaged, etc. (if any). She even buys supplies for me and recommend great handymen and gardeners. The difference is day-and-night before and after I started taking their professional services! Ever since I started using Maid-For-You, I could sleep better, knowing that my house and guests are always well taken care of! And my guests' feedback reflect the same (via their online reviews and offline comments). read more

This is exactly my second negative yelp (or yelp of any kind) but I feel so strongly I was totally ripped off I want to warn others away from this business. I bought a Dealsaver coupon for this business that was "half price." The advertised four hours (for 80 dollars with Dealsaver) was twice too much--I can't imagine how I'd feel if I paid full price. The two women were to arrive at noon. One did not show up until one o'clock. The first one didn't have the basics she needed, like a vacuum cleaner! She explained I had bought four "maid hours," so two women for two hours. The woman who came an hour late was hostile, sullen, & argumentative--she said they would each work "an hour and a half" and that would equal four hours. When I explained it would equal three hours, she stomped upstairs & made personal calls, then called her boss, spitefully talking loudly from the top of the stairs when I was in the living room, to complain that I didn't "understand" they only owed me an hour and a half each. The first woman was pleasant, but seemed very slow--maybe she was trying to make up for her work partner. On top of this, the work overall was shoddy. The two women cleaned two bathrooms and three rooms--not well, the kitchen had no mopping, the counters were grimy, etc.--in that amount of time. We have been using Maid for You for monthly cleanings of our home for about the past year. We had monthly cleanings at our old home in Chicago and I was worried when we moved that I would not find a crew here in Bellingham I liked as much as our past crew. Thankfully I found Paula & Jamie from Maid for You and am so happy with their work. The icing on the cake is that they are the most reasonably priced service of all that I called for a quote. I bought a deal saver from the Bellingham Herald several months ago. While the actual cleaning was pretty good, it wasn't fantastic. I had a very short list of items to be done in 4 hours. They were: clean all floors, clean the bathrooms, clean the front of the kitchen appliances and clean the inside of the microwave. Given the list of tasks was so small, I expected them to be done well. The tile floors were done well and the bathrooms looked good but the hardwood floors were only swept not mopped and the stairs weren't vacuumed at all. My major complaint is that it took forever to get an actual appointment. I'm talking several weeks and I had to be on a waiting list. I didn't get to pick a day or time frame. When I called I was told that I'd be put on a waiting list and if they couldn't fit me in by the end of October they wouldn't be able to get to me at all until January. This is a terrible way to do business if your goal is to build your business by advertising with a deal saver. I'd also like to note that this is my first yelp review but I felt so annoyed I wanted to let other people know about my experience. read more

I have been using Maid for You for about a year now. I start out with a few different ladies and they were all wonderful. I have kids so they using non-harsh green cleaning products (except when I requested otherwise) and they always steam cleaned the hard floors. I ultimately decided I like having only a single consistent person in my house and they updated my services. Olga is amazing and very intuitive when it come to noticing the little things that need a deep clean (like my child's high chair). Overall, Maid for You's services have allowed me to spend more quality time with my family. I highly recommend them. read more

Had I not seen the nice lady that came to clean, I would likely have thought maybe she didn't show up. I had cleaned myself prior to her coming to get the most out of the time. I had washed all of the floors and left a note for her. When I came home she said she hadn't gone down stairs, that's half our house. She said she dusted and she did a little but didn't dust my fireplace mantle, bookshelf or the majority that needed it. Where she did dust she didn't move things she just dusted around. She cleaned the sinks but not well. She didn't wipe the bathroom counter or kitchen island. I don't know what she spent 4 hours doing. Very disappointed. I can see that she used pledge because she didn't wipe it all of and it somehow ended up on our wood floors so I had to wash those again so we didn't fall. read more
