Granted, we were at Falco between Christmas and New Years Eve, when the A Team in restaurants tends to be on vacation We have been to just about every highly-rated restaurant in Leipzig. Max Enk (good wines, but just OK food), Mifune (novice, if not incompetent, Teppanyaki), etc. Sadly, there aren't a great many fine dining choices in Leipzig. Leipzig appears to be a culinary wasteland. Or so I thought. C'est la vie showed creativity and flavor that will hold up anywhere. I use Yelp a lot, but I don't write a lot of reviews. This restaurant wasn't even in Yelp and it most positively deserves a review. The foie gras, one of my staple dishes, was inspired. The pheasant cooked in spiced milk was prefect. The amuse bouche deserves an honorable mention. The sommelier was knowledgeable and patient. The potato essence soup was plain divine. Never had anything like it and I have been to more Michelin stars and Top 50 restaurants than I can count. Minus points for the bread and the first wine, both of which were boring. The latter might be due to the fact that our group had a bottle of Champagne prior, but the sommelier needs to take prior beverage consumption into account when selecting wines. Bottom line: clear Michelin 1 Star performance and utterly incomprehensible that this restaurant wasn't even listed on Yelp. Fixed.

Excellent Food!…read more Nice, fancy and well run. Daily specials listed on chalkboard. No specials today because the restaurant has to cater a dinner tonight. Some Really good Eastern European pasta dishes. Seats were comfortable. Able to work at table with three others and treated well. Entree's were all single dish. Meals with some veggies and a good amount of food. No photos since it was a business lunch.

Had a terrible experience at this spot. Could have lived with the slow service and sub par food…read more but when we tried to inquire about the status of our food (we order 2 salads and a sandwich which took over 45 mins) we were treated in a very rude manner. All of a sudden, our waitress pretended she didn't speak English (she spoke perfectly fine when we first ordered) and when we tried to speak French to find a common language, we were actually made fun of by multiple wait staff members standing there. One even said "you think you're so cool speaking French". They then berated us for not being clearer in English. When we tried to just cancel our food, they outright refused. She had a coffee and I had a latte. Service was very fast and courteous. We were able to sit and chat for two hours and enjoy a beautiful afternoon in Leipzig. Nobody was rushing us out the door. Even though, this time it was just an afternoon coffee, I have been here many times before and had different cocktails and snack food. It was always an enjoyable experience.
