Indian food differs across the world and that is expected as they aim to please the locals and what they are accustomed to. This little restaurant is no exception, they have clearly fine tuned each meal to the taste buds of the local French inhabitants and that makes sense, however i found that the food was slightly more creamy and mild than i would normally expect or enjoy from a Indian restaurant. Despite the dishes not tasting anything like what I am used to it did taste good and that is what is important. The food was nice and the service was quick and friendly. The ambiance was lovely, it was a warm cozy joint with some nice decor, and the toilet had to be the 'Pièce de résistance'. It was a very ornate throne which when flushed had a bell ring, very charming. Overall the restaurant was nice, but nothing like the Indian food I have tasted over the years across Europe,America and the Middle East but still a nice version. My only real complaint would be it was slightly over priced for what was very small portions, the main courses also do not come with rice or bread so to pay 13 Euros for a small chicken tikka masala which was literally no more than 5 tablespoons it is a little disappointing and overpriced. Other than that if you fancy a curry and there isn't anywhere else why not pop in here it may tickle your taste buds more than it did mine! read more

The restaurant is expensive for the food it offers. We took samosas and dal and naans. It was ok. Definitely not as authentic as it could be. I would say it is very European-ized indian food. Worth a try but not worth the food. read more

I don't know if I've ever given anything but 1s and 5s, but Yelp is lacking English reviews, especially for vegetarian options. This restaurant has a handful of vegetarian options. Normally, I would not review a restaurant if it were 3 or 4 stars, but Lille has very few veg options, so I'm going to compare to the alternative and give it 4 stars. For comparison, it would be below average in the SF Bay area, and above average in the NYC area - really middle of the road here. :) The legumes korma was okay, if a bit less spicy and flavorful than I'd like. I suspect that that has more to do with the culture regarding spices in Northern France, than the restaurant itself. The meal was perfectly adequate, service was decent, and I'd be willing to eat here again if in the neighborhood. While not as sophisticated, I would prefer Holy Cow, which was a step above expectations. read more

It's a bit creamy with a light curry like sauce. I particularly like their nan bread with cheese or butter inside, they're awesome. A meal at this place will probably cost around 5-10 Euros depending on what you get. Sandwich with fries and drink is about 5-7 Euros and the rice meals are at 8 -10 euros. On my next visit I plan to get their creamier and currier dishes. Note: I tried their Chicken tandoori and it tasted weird for me. A bit spicy with a weird sour and bland flavour.

Expérience culinaire! Une vraie bonne soirée dans ce restaurant que nous avons découvert entre amis. Tout le monde s'est régalé. Découvertes de saveurs au rendez-vous : - nous avons joué le jeu et pris des "lassi" en apéritif, rose, mangue et banane, qui nous ont beaucoup plu - menu a 18€ pour tous, entrée, plat et dessert, avec une entrée riche en gout, et bien présentée, des plats a base de curry, mais franchement succulents (le curry noix de cajou, amandes, raisins secs et coco a fait l'unanimité, et les autres ont aussi rassemblé les éloges), et des desserts typiques, mais assez peu de choix, et finalement moins a la hauteur (a tester 1x) Un grand bravo pour le service, discret mais très correct (et on n'a jamais eu a demander plusieurs fois les carafes d'eau comme dans certains restos, au contraire, les serveurs nous les remplaçaient même avant qu'elles soient vides :D) Bref, une très bonne soirée, à recommencer ! Un restau avec beaucoup de qualités, mais pas le meilleur indien de Lille Comme le disent les commentaires précédents, c'est de la cuisine indienne moins épicée que la vraie cuisine indienne. Mieux vaut ne pas y aller pour l'explosion de saveurs, donc. Ce petit regret mis à part, et qui ne nous a pas empêchés de nous régaler, la carte est assez fournie (sans originalité non plus), les menus ne sont vraiment pas chers et assez copieux, les serveurs discrets mais sympathiques et conciliants (les desserts de nos menus ne nous plaisaient pas, on a eu un thé à la menthe à la place), le service rapide (mais j'y suis allée un soir de semaine, c'était loin d'être plein), l'ambiance et le décor chaleureux. C'est donc un restau que je recommande vivement à qui veut être dépaysé mais pas trop non plus. read more

Décevant Ambiance et déco sympa, mais il ne faut pas s'attendre à de la grande cuisine. Plat ne correspondant pas forcément à ce qui est décrit sur la carte, extrêmement gras, assez fade pour de la cuisine indienne. Personnellement, j'ai non seulement été déçu par la pauvreté des saveurs, mais aussi été exaspéré par les prix, qui, si à première vue ne paraissent pas excessifs, ne tiennent en fait pas compte des accompagnements ou du pain. Finalement, à part le cadre qui est sympa sans être exceptionnel, ce restaurant ne présente à mes yeux aucun intérêt. Je suis sorti déçu et plutôt amer, sachant que ce que l'on propose dans cet endroit, pourrait sans difficulté être reproduit chez soi avec du curry et un sachet de surgelés. read more

Découverte agréable ! Cuisine délicieusement parfumée sans être trop piquante, cadre sobre et relaxant, service discret mais efficace, prix raisonnables. Ma chérie et moi-même avons passé une excellente soirée, c'était notre première visite dans un restaurant Indien... Le menu à 16 euros nous a comblé (vous avez le choix entre 4/5 entrées, 4/5 plats, et 2 desserts) et nous a permis de découvrir ces plats dont nous ignorions tout. De plus, la salle fumeurs est réellement isolée, donc pas de gêne pour les non-fumeurs que nous sommes. Enfin, passez donc visiter les toilettes avant de partir, vous serez surpris ! read more
