I can't stop telling people about my amazing experience was at Magnolia Scents. My husband lovingly calls me a tea snob, and the loose leaf tea options here are amazing. I've been really into tea for about a decade and they had teas I haven't had before. I can't wait to try the blueberry white tea. Better yet - their tea prices are amazing. I've paid three times as much for similar teas in Dallas. The store also has a wonderful locally made candle collection. If you want some beautiful Independence made art, or art about the city, this is your place. We loved seeing all the books by local authors. I told my mother-in-law and aunt about this place and we enjoyed sending more family back there for a few hours. The gentlemen who ran the store were more than welcoming and kind. Omigoodness! What a delightful place to browse for soaps, lotions, candles and such! The proprietor is SUCH a nice guy, and was patient with all my many questions. There are dozens and dozens of scents to choose from, and he was able to point out which ones had essential oils added to them (very nice!). I was staying with my friend, and those are the only liquid hand soaps she uses, so I was already sold before stopping in. When I started using it I was peeling from tanning and once I used it I didn't even need lotion after the shower and it smells amazing. Second, I usually purchase from the Greenville SC store because that's where I live but I accidentally placed a pick up order for this store. This is one of Independence Kansas best shops in town. They have so many neat and cool things to look at and buy. As you walk in Magnolias the first thing you may notice is how great they place smells. As your tempted by the sweet nice fragrances, over to the far right shelves you will see that they have an assortment of handmade candles which they make themselves. They also have scentcys if you prefer those instead. There candles do come in plenty of sizes to choose from. As a matter of fact I bought a large mulberry candle for my dad's birthday this year and he absolutely loves it. I recommend getting a candle warmer if you buy their candles. Makes the candles last forever and will have your home smelling pleasant, nice, and very refreshing in no time. In the center of the shop they sell some ornaments and other neat things of that sort. And on the left side of the store their first set of shelves they have essential oils, diffusers, and hand made bars of herb soaps. On the second set of shelves on the left side they sell many kinds of loose leaf teas and and tea balls. They have a great selection of loose leaf teas to choose from like jasmine, english breakfast, irish breakfast, white grapefruit, two different kinds of Chai tea and so much more. Last but not least their third sets of shelves contains about any herbs and spices that you can think of. They even have catnip which I bought an ounce for my cat recently for only $0.89. The people that work there are nice and friendly and eager to help you out. So their customer service is absolutely amazing. Their store has a great atmosphere to walk in to. Their prices are very affordable. Especially if you're buying loose leaf teas, herbs, and spices. If you're ever in Independence Kansas definitely make sure to stop by and and pay magnolias a visit.
