This school does have some great teachers, but those teachers leave because of the toxic…read moreenvironment, especially in the special education department. This school fights tooth and nail to not provide services to special-needs children. I have no idea why this school treats the SN children like second-class citizens. One child was able to walk off campus one time to walk into a busy road, and the teacher in charge was let off the hook. Kids with no disabilities tend to get the services they need, but the SN's services get taken away. ARD's are a joke. No matter what evidence from other professionals that you bring to a meeting, they really don't care. Money is the issue, and that's what the school district cares about the most.

What do your janitors do? This school isn't even old, and wow I must say that the maintenance is HORRIBLE. But they probably won't bat an eye because the teachers just use their nice staff bathrooms. I get it kids are messy, but how does maintenance staff get paid if they're not doing their job?!?! On top of that, the teachers just hand out busy work, sit at their desk, and clearly hate their job..... Please fix this.

The campus was huge, impressively clean, and the cafeteria provided ample seating, accommodating the large number of attendees comfortably. As with many gymnasiums, the bleachers were predictably uncomfortable; at 5'5" and 125 pounds, I found myself sitting at an angle with people bumping from behind and in front to be less than ideal. Why do schools keep doing this? They are as bad as the airline industry. I can only imagine the increased discomfort for taller or larger individuals. Despite this, the overall quality of the facilities surpassed our previous experience at Waltrip High School in Houston - by a MILE. One area for improvement is the women's restroom, which lacked paper towels; the air dryers were insufficient for thoroughly drying hands. On a positive note, parking was plentiful and convenient. It's worth mentioning that the surrounding area offers limited amenities, there are very few stores and restaurants worth mentioning unless you head over to the Woodlands. If you are a vegetarian, you are mostly out of luck in this area of Texas. According to U.S. News & World Report's 2024 Best High Schools Rankings, Magnolia High School is ranked within the top 15% of high schools in Texas and the top third in the greater Houston area. The school serves approximately 2,248 students in grades 9-12. There were lots of award banners prominently displayed in the school. As a science teacher, I would have LOVED to see their chemistry and biology laboratories!
