The building is beautiful and the food is quite good if that is all you care about. However the dining room manager regularly belittles the clients and even yells at them if they step out of line. The final straw for me was the need to go to the ED. This was because they keep the halls so hot I developed heat exhaustion while going back and forth to the laundry room. I was accosted the week before leaving (I had planned to give thirty days notice but forced to do otherwise) by the sales manager in the most unprofessional manner because I owed $200.00 for the month. Trust me this was not a lot of money. This person came blasting through my apartment door with at least one gentleman (I use this term loosely) and she was extremely belligerent and unprofessional. Rather than asking me or inviting me to meet with her in the office for a discussion it was a full on onslaught of my character and left me emotionally distraught. Two comments just made me shake my head as I was referred to as a free loader and then questioned how I could be fully disabled and drive. This in my opinion not only demonstrates her ignorance of disabilities but in some ways potential discrimination. At a minimum very low tolerance for folks who may be functioning at a slower pace. This is prevalent throughout. There are some wonderful employees that I enjoyed and I will miss them, but I believe my walker and I will find a much better fit elsewhere. Such a shame I was developing some nice friendships.

Just a couple of days before that I had mentioned to C.B. in passing that Sunday marked our first wedding anniversary. As you know, we were married right here in the dining room a year ago. We will never forget C.B.'s wonderful food and service at our reception that day. Fast forward one year later to this Sunday evening: food server Mary Saseen asked us at lunch-time to be at a certain dining room table at 3:30 pm. We knew that something was up so we indeed arrived on time. Lo and behold, Mary, assisted by Imani Kelly and Jamaul Bible, brought forward a wonderful round wedding anniversary cake with three candles. She got the crowd to say "Happy Anniversary" as June blew out the candles. It was a wonderful cake (and wonderful prime rib) and we had a wonderful time! I pray for C.B. and his staff every day, asking God to grant them the gifts of "helps", the gift of patience, and the gift of love. God granted all three prayers last Sunday night. June and I would like to thank them from the bottom of our hearts. May they all have one blessed day after another!

Management…read moredoes not keep the facility fully in compliant staffing at all times, which greatly negates care, cleanliness and health. This past year, they went through five executive directors and at least four resident care coordinators. In our case, Executive Director REFUSED to honor my FULL LEGAL GUARDIANSHIP, then I had the Ombudsman "explain" to him the breadth and depth of my legal authority (still dealing with this matter). Monthly weight monitoring and reporting REQUIRED, yet they failed to perform or at least provide it to me and her primary care physician. I observed the DRASTIC weight loss and appetite during my weekly visits. They failed to feed her as she'sa voracious eater and drinker. I often visited during dining or snack times to find my mother in the bed staring at the wall. Often I could be there two or three hours and not see a worker. Also, cleanliness is awful. I regularly complained of feces on walls, door knobs, floors -- even my mother's pillow (three separate occasions) and chairs in common activity room. Unfortunately, there are long waiting lists and hoops to jump through to remove a loved one from such abysmal conditions. Best not to go there in the first place. I observed this same lack of care with other patients so it's throughout the operation. Their executive director argued about my authority when brought to his attention and corporate office nonresponsive despite multiple letters and calls. Bottomline is they know and don't care as long as they get their fee, though it's fraud as the residents are not getting what they pay for - ASSISTED living.

It became clear that he is much too concerned with the facility's bottom line and not at all concerned about the patient's well-being. In addition to witnessing complete incompetence on a regular basis, we were straight up lied to on multiple occasions. The lack of care and attention at times was shocking. I would not recommend this facility for as long as it is being run by Mr. Waldrep. On an aside, this experience just underscored the significant challenge this country faces over the next 20 years with senior citizens needed long term care. We badly need more facilities and better administrators.

I don't know how the residents sleep, or think for that matter. While the resident dog is cute, there are occasions it barks a bit too much. For as much as one has to pay here, the only inside outlets are the lobby and the dining room. There is no library or crafts room - pretty disappointing. It seems these would be basic things for a place like this to have. Bottom line, residents appear very bored and have nothing but the 4 walls in their room and meal time. Overall, really disappointing for an assisted living experience.
