Dimple Dell Fitness & Recreation Center - Fun beach entry pool for the little kids

I went to the Dimple Dell Center to swim twice a week for a full year in 2023/2024. The women's…read morelocker room and the shower/restroom area often stunk of urine. This was really common and disgusting. One toilet stand was unbelievably dirty for 3 weeks until someone cleaned it. I put up with it until they cranked up the water temperature to 84F which made it impossible to do serious lap swimming. The pool managers I spoke to about it were extremely rude. My notes about the smell of urine didn't seem to make any difference. The front desk people were nice but calling to ask them about the pool availability was useless as they would give me incorrect info. By comparison, the Gene Fullmer's Center where I went to for a year prior to DD was perfectly clean, only more crowded.

They have wall climbing which we didn't get to try since we arrived to have a couple of hours of swimming before closing. They have lap pools for adults and right size of toddler swim/play area and regular pool. There was a birthday party during our visit and the room was big. The restrooms/shower room looked spacious. We didn't have to use the shower or restroom. Entrance fee is not minimal and varies (kids, adult l, senior). No parking fee and with big parking space. .

Great facility with lots and lots of fitness options. Cardio machines (treadmills, bikes, rowing…read moremachines, ellipticals, etc.) and a walking/running track make up the upstairs part of the building--this is a great place for parents to watch their kids play basketball while they get in some exercise. On the lower level, there is a lap pool and a kids pool (complete with water slides and a lazy river), a weight room, basketball courts, and a high-fitness area (with TRX, punching bags, battle ropes, and the like). The basketball courts are fantastic and have a lot of hoops to practice on. While the weight room doesn't have as many machines as the cardio area upstairs, there are a decent amount of free weights and I rarely see machines broken; I've never seen a machine out of order for more than 24 hours, so the maintenance staff is really on top of things. In addition to these open areas, which are all included with paid admission (daily costs are $3 for children under 12 and $5 for adults), the Park Center offers a variety of fitness classes, including Zumba, water aerobics, spinning, HIIT, and more. I love this gym because of the assortment of activities, the friendly staff, the non-crowded atmosphere, and because you can purchase monthly memberships without worrying about contracts and fees like other gyms.

Nice facility with pretty much everything you'd need. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Never…read moretoo busy.

As a student who goes to the University of Utah, I THRIVE on "things that are included in your…read moretuition and fees". The Student Life Center is awesome and has everything I need to maintain a healthy lifestyle during such a stressful time in my life. The first floor is where you can find a boxing room, racquetball, the pool, and basketball court. There is a large locker room that adds convenience and ease, whether you wish to go swim laps or simply relax in the hot tub. The main floor houses a few chairs and tables you can utilize if you need a quick study sesh. A nice little cafe where you can grab a smoothie on your way out really compliments the whole "healthy lifestyle" everyone strives for. The second floor is where you get your swole on. Lots of cardio equipment (treadmills, bikes, rowing machines, and ellipticals), free weights, weight machines, mats and foam rollers, and plenty of cubbies if you brought a bag and need to leave your stuff. The third floor is where the running track is located and a few foam boxes if you believe "HITT training is the shizzzz"! TIPS & TRICKS: * There is a small room on the second floor called "The Core", it provides anyone with a more secluded area if you're not one to show off your bod. * Even if you aren't a student, you can purchase a pass at a very cheap price. Unfortunately no classes are included with your pass, a con for sure. A significant other pass is $60 for a semester. * The location is great, you can ride Trax or the UTA buses and get dropped off just a hop, skip, and a jump away (gotta get warmed up before you head in)!
