They were warm and attentive in the beginning, but then forgot about you once you're main courses were out. We were sitting around twiddling our thumbs waiting for the bill and we weren't even asked how the food was and if they can get us refills. So they get a 3/5 for service, and they seemed too well staff in cooking counter, we're talking like 10 people back there and 3-4 waitresses. High Yield: A Pakistani, Middle Eastern Indian fusion restaurant that does a spectacular job on spices and capturing the tastes of these cultures, but with ghosting hospitality that needs improvement, easy on wallet, and warm atmosphere Details: What we ordered 1. Chicken Madras- They claim this is the spiciest dish offered here. True- takes a couple of bites for that spice to truly finally hit you. Great for those who are trying to truly go for a spicy and tasteful dish. I highly recommend this outta all the chickens on here. Tikka is a little too tomatoey, Bhuna has a yogurty tang to it, and this is straight up spicy spice if you like it this way. Chicken breast with a sauce not creamy but heavy in spices. Very good and well done. I highly approve. Order a side of roti/naan and dip it in. The madras and bhuna do not come with rice/bread btw, so I recommend you order a bread to dip with 2. Lamb Madhu- Rice is a little flavorless and it's a little more tough than the typical basmati rice that you see- aka not fluffy. The lamb was not bad though. It's lamb on bone compared to briyani where the meat is not on the bone. Way too much rice in my opinion but if you're a big rice eater, go for it. If your company ordered a madras/curry they can mooch off your rice a little ;) 3. Bhuna Chicken- a yogurty kinda curry. You can definitely taste the tartness of the yogurt- a soothing and comfortable curry to order if you're someone who doesn't want something too spicy or tomatoey. Highly recommend. Also need a roti/bread or mooch off a briyani's rice if you get this. Well done, however. Service: Ok, this is where they lose their 5 star rating. They come off as warm and super attentive at first. And you're pleased. However, once that main course appears, they ghost you. Never saw our waiter again. Didn't even come by and ask how we were doing, check for refills, or even come with check even when were clearly done for a while. They had excellent service but seemed to ignore you after you get your food. I checked multiple times and it wasn't like they were understaffed... rather they had like 10 people preparing food, 2-3 people chilling back behind that counter, and like 4-5 waiters for about 20-25 tables... so I don't understand how they can ghost. I recommend they step up the service or else will sacrifice their quality of their restaurant.. If you're in a rush, definitely put pressure for them to get your check or else yyou'll NEVER get it.

The place was packed on a weekday, which speaks volumes about how good the food was. The menu prices were also very reasonable. The Kashmiri naan was my absolute favorite and some of the best that I've had. I would have taken a photo but it was gone so quick.

The food comes in small bowls that don't look like they'll satisfy your hunger, but you'll be surprised. Vegetable Samosa 3 medium size samosas served hot on the outside and warm on the inside. The peas and potato mixture, mixed with seasoning, had a nice subtle kick to it. The green chutney that came with it had a nice cool minty taste and goes well with this dish. It was more liquidy than the typical green chutney, but can be used as a dressing on top of the small salad that this came with. This is a great starter that can satisfy a small hunger or used to excite the taste buds and get the stomach ready for the main course. Chicken Tikka Masala The sauce is tomatoey and creamy. Not spicy at all. There are good amounts of chicken swimming in the sauce. The chicken is well cooked and soaks up the tikka masala, giving you more flavor as you bite into the chicken. This is my favorite. Saag Paneer This was a bit too heavily seasoned with spices and a bit too salty, for me. I couldn't really taste the spinach or cheese in it. Maybe if eaten with naan, it would balance out the seasoning, but eating it with rice, did not. If you're a fan of ginger, this has a few bits and pieces big enough for you to chew on and appreciate. Unfortunately, this was my least favorite out of the three dishes I've tried here. Even if you're dining alone or out on a romantic night around the town, this is a great place to go to satisfy that craving for delicious Indian food.

Have you ever been in to a place that screams "CUSTOMER SERVICE!!!!!!"?…read moreWell this place is that. The only reason I came across this place is because I travelled all the way to The Wirral to visit a tattoo artist. I was really hungry and couldn't be bothered waiting til I got home and then having to drag things out and cook... So I asked the tattoo artist where was good to go and he recommended this restaurant. The boy and I trundled down to the restaurant and we were welcomed in by a friendly waiter. As you can see from the photo's I've uploaded, presentation is EVERYTHING! It's clean, aesthetically pleasing and the seats were very comfy :) We ordered poppadoms and the selection of chutneys and onions to start. I did not expect what was delivered on a HUGE revolving dish infront of me! (see the picture!) I would have thoroughly enjoyed eating poppadoms and these chutneys for the rest of the evening!! SO yummy! The chilli one was overwhelming but very tasty. Next stage? Main meal; I ordered a Chicken Karahi with lemon rice (my fave) - I cannot describe how cool the rice mountain on a saucer looked! The dishes were authentic and again presentation was clearly key when the plate arrived with artistic garnish decoration! The portions were plenty but not overloaded - as you ate your first bite, you could tell how fresh the herbs, spices, vegetables and chicken were! The sauce was also light which made it very refreshing and not a burden on the stomach like some takeaway curries can be. After much mmmm'ing and delightful smiles, we were finished and our plates cleared away. They then brought us freshly cut orange and hot lemon cleansing wipes. The boy decided to have some ice cream and I had a lovely earl grey tea. After ordering dessert, one of the waiter's approached us asking me where we were from and some random questions about why we had come there. Whilst he was doing this he had put a bag of balloons on the table and asked me what animal I would like! I asked for a cat and he got straight in to it - it was fantastic!!! (see the picture!) A starter, mains, a few drinks and dessert with friendly service in such a great place came to just over £30. Well worth every penny. I am definitely going back if I ever go to the Wirrall again!

The staff were very friendly and accommodating, the service was prompt and courteous. The food itself was generously portioned and oooo so great on the tongue. Huge range of flavours and textures all piping hot. Curries were excellent and even looked appealing as they brought them over. The manager even made my girlfriend a balloon animal with some banter! Haha Can you ask for much more from a curry house? Will definitely visit here again when we visit Mr Piercy again.

The front of the restaurant is a bit tacky but then again, so are a lot of India restaurants (they seem to have a fascination with making them look like the Taj Mahal or something) but if you ignore that and go through the front door you are greeted by staff that are polite and courteous. Gate of India does offer takeaway but I would recommend sitting in if it's not too busy because the service they give you certainly makes it worth staying in. The food on offer at Gate of India is very tasty if a little unspectacular. However, I'm of the opinion that even an average Indian dish is still a very good meal so don't think that the lack of originality in any way harms the quality of the food. As usual, they cater for everyone's tastes, offering everything from mild kormas to that'll-hurt-my-arse-in-the-morning vindaloos, which can all be washed down with the usual selection of lagers and other alcoholic beverages.

How Rude! I suppose it's probably only one member of staff spoiling the broth so to speak and I could understand it if we where drunk and leary but we hadn't even had a drink that night and we where very polite and pleasant with them. The guy must have had a bad day or just wanted to get rid of us but it spoilt the experience quite a lot for me.

I don't think Indian Delight is a 2-star establishment at all. This is one of the best Indian's in Liverpool City Centre, the food is great, the staff are so quick and reliable, plus the price is great. Considering most people that walk into Indian Delight are slightly worse for wear, the staff are always really respectful and polite as long as you're not shouting abuse at them. I strongly recommend the chicken makhonwalla, lamb sagwala and of course the poppadoms!

Luckily, the lights from Indian Delight won us over - plus it was freezing and we were hungry and drunk. Unfortunately, not as good as UnI. The dips with the poppadoms tasted wrong and I ended up ordering a dansak instead of my staple korma. My opinion is no reflection on the staff, however, who were lovely and so quick we were amazed. Another thing to point out is that I never ever manage to finish a whole curry to myself, but this time I did. And it really wasn't that bad. We were all just tainted by our love of the place nextdoor-but-one. The meal came to less than £60 for four of us, which you can't really complain about. Sorry to the staff for giving you 2 stars, but its really not a reflection on you. It just didn't live up to our expectations!
