We greatly appreciated the wonderful service of the entire Hale Manna staff. The restaurant offered a vast menu of delicious dishes. The large complex was beautiful and consisted of professionally manicured and maintained natural gardens and walkways. Numerous covered lounging areas dotted the shoreline, offering quiet secluded areas to relax and enjoy the ocean views. The reef was beautiful with colorful coral, an enormous variety of fish, sea-turtles, seahorses and other wildlife. Professional guides are available to assist snorkelers. Overall, Hale Manna is an outstanding resort and excellent value.

The view was absolutely DIVINE! (see what I did there? ;) We were greeted by a modest picture of an open concept structure. However as you draw near, you know that the simplicity was a perfect complement to the peaceful nature it rests upon. The nice breeze and sound of the sea welcomes your approach. What greets you in the lobby is the breathtaking view of the infinity pool leading towards the sea. My son loved it so much he quickly asked if he can jump in, and that he did. He stayed there the entire day I might add. Conveniently the rooms (all 9 of them) were just a few steps from the pool so it was not so hard to keep an eye out for him. The rooms are no suite but are adequately sized for a family of 3. They were clean with everything we needed. Surprisingly the beds and the linen sheets were hotel grade and yes I can tell they are because when you're pregnant you tend to be very picky and observant for such comforts. They even have a common kitchen but hardly used it. There is a restaurant nearby though so food wasn't an issue. Service was superb, staff - friendly, made us feel right at home. Apparently this location is close to adventures and tourist attractions. Kawasan Falls, Canyoneering and Sardine Run were just a few minutes away as we were told. Our intent was to go Whale Shark Watching in a neighbouring town, Oslob. Their staff was very accommodating to help us with arrangements. Oh and their English is superb so no worries in communication. The cherry on top to this beautiful place was the stunning sunsets as the days end. I wish I have words to describe the feeling when you see it but you will just have to be there to see and experience it for yourself. Memories were indeed made.

The location is remote enough to give you privacy while still being only a quick ride to town or nightlife. The staff are super friendly and accommodating. The food was the best I have had in the Philippines. But the greatest part about staying at Blue Orchid was the convenience. Need a ride? Want to do an excursion? Want to rent a scooter? No problem! The staff gets it done for you swiftly and at a reasonable rate. Plus you can add all the fees to your final bill. That way you don't have to constantly pull out your wallet or stop at ATMs. I can't say enough good things about this place. If that doesn't sound like you, then this little piece of paradise might be wasted on you. If you're down for a little r&r with a healthy dose of open ocean, then don't go past Blue Orchid Resort. Sure, the rooms are comfy and the food is good. There's a great spot overlooking the water to read or practise yoga while listening to the lapping waves below. And you can relax without a care in the world beside the pool. The best bit, however, is the house reef directly in front of the resort. Grab a snorkel and flippers and get exploring - with tropical fish, healthy corals and more than a couple of sea turtles floating around it's a bit like swimming in a giant, fully stocked aquarium. If diving is more your thing, affable and skilled resort managers Liz and Adam will happily you suit up and take you on an oceanic adventure. No matter your skills Liz and Adam are the perfect hosts - both on land and in the sea. However, be warned that it can get busy on the weekends with outside quests paying a fee to use the pool and the grounds. Related Fees: Entrance : php60.00 per person - includes access to the pool area Cottage: php200.00 There are two types of pool area in the venue. The first one is where the pool is filled with water from the river and the other one is filled with chemical treated water. If you choose the latter, you will have access to two swimming pools, the first one just after you enter the premise and the other one just after it, separated by a pathway going down. The second pool area has slides if you're into that. Food is available in the venue's very own restaurant and they are cheap. You can choose to eat it inside the resto or bring it with you to your cottage. Price ranges between php120-250. Try their pizza, either the cheesy or the meaty variety. It's super affordable at just php200 (cheesy) and php250 (meaty). Soda, water, shakes, juices, etc can also be bought frommthe resto and they're also very affordable. For thrill seeking adventurers, you can opt to try out their ATV or Zipline. ATV rental is at php200-250 while zipline is at 150. It's just one way though so think about that. Don't forget to go down the hanging bridge just after the second pool area. You will have a majestic view of the water flowing from the mountain cascading from one huge boulder to the other. Last tourist spot to hit, we only had a few hours to spare. Hubbers, cuzzos and I opted for the hot springs, and the rest of our party went for massages. And the hot springs was enough. An hour before, we were in the bustles of the city. An hour later, it seems we're on a whole different planet. We were surrounded with nothing but the greeneries of the forest and the sounds of its residents and the nearby stream. It's a different kind of paradise. I haven't felt this relaxed in awhile! This whole resort has a lot to explore. Accommodations come in different forms: hotel, regular cottages, family cottages, etc. There's a walking path to waterfalls. Plenty of pools and a lagoon. Like I mentioned there's a massage center. Two days may not even be enough! But what a way to end our tour of Bacolod! So glad we have fam here to show us around! Definitely looking forward to coming back!

My cousin (Megan), best friend (Jani) and I were smart enough to do the trekking first. Our aunt had told us that we had to see the falls. So off we went to see the falls. The guide told us that it would take us one hour to get to the falls. I thought that climbing up would be easy. It wasn't. I also thought that the first falls we saw was the legit one. It wasn't. There are six small falls you pass before you get to the one you can swim in. After an hour of dragging ourselves up to the falls, the only thing we could say was, "Worth it!" This resort has other things to do as well. There's a spa. You know, after trekking, you can relax here. There's a food court if you're too lazy to bring your own food. They have many swimming pools. Some are hot. Others are cold (unless a kid starts peeing in the pool). There's a lagoon for boating. They also have a slide for life which is pretty cool. They also have a canopy walk in which you walk through the resort a number of feet from the ground. I suggest that you bring a car when you go to this resort. It's big! And for those who aren't really into trekking or outdoor activities, your body will hurt and it's hard to walk around from one activity to the next. Take a car. Also, reserve early. There are huts for the day and there are rooms for night. Plan which activities you want to go to and which you can forgo. But if I were you, I'd make it a point to go up to see the falls.
