This wasn't a huge deal, but the venue was on a slope and the tables were spaced fairly close together which was uncomfortable. Some drinks had spilled and just ran down the table into other guests' areas. Early on in the luau, guests had the opportunity to view an Imu Ceremony which was cool and something I haven't had the opportunity to witness at other luaus. My group was immediately started with 2 drinks each which was sugary and didn't have much alcohol in it. And apparently their policy is that each guest can't have more than 2 drinks at a time, but you could ask to swap out your drinks (you don't have to finish it). The buffet had a good spread of items, from basics like salad to regional flavors like kalua pork. The quality was fine - obviously not Michelin star quality, but it wasn't school cafeteria food either. I appreciate the large plates because you could fit a little bit of each item on there so you could try it all. I didn't see many people go back for seconds. Clearly the luau organizers are strategic about the food lineup so people don't overload on the meat at the end. The entertainment was fine. The performers were great, but honestly I didn't feel like there was much energy from the stage nor the crowd. Overall, the experience could've been better. Many of the employees looked tired and stressed and seemed to be on auto-pilot. It felt a bit like the guests were like cattle being shuffled around.

They started handing us drinks left and right as we sat down. After drinks, they had a demonstration of how they were smoke the pork in the dirt and the staff would pull the pork out from ground. They had storytelling, against, and fire! Overall, it was a great experience in Kona. I always opt in for a luau when I am in Hawaii.

The show was nice with a band and explanations about local culture and legends and a little history. I like how they moved through time with it and covered different regions like you were on a tour. I honestly got a little bored at the act before the fire dance and my kid almost wanted to leave, but then it was the fire dance and we were good and that was the last part. The timing was just right in my opinion. Overall, a touristy thing to do for sure. The price is on par with other places in the area and since we were staying at the hotel this was a no brainer. This is held at the Outrigger in Kona every Monday and Thursday. There are two types of seating:…read morepreferred and general. Preferred is more expensive than general but your party will be seated closer to the front without other people sharing your table. Your party will also be called earlier for the buffet. Check in started at 4:30pm and gate opened at 5pm. A welcome drink (choice were mai tai and a non-alcoholic drink) is available for everyone. The mai tai was good. At our table, we had smoked pork, smoked salted macadamia nuts, and banana bread waiting for us. The wooden serving plate designed and shaped like a pineapple where these were served was cute and covered with plastic wrap. I suggest that once you know your assigned table, you proceed to the side and try some activities to avoid a line or the number of people who would like to try them later as well. These activities were fun and guided by staff. They included orchid lei bracelet making, traditional Hawaiian printing, and traditional games. Traditional artist/crafts were available at the back. Open bar was also located at the back. There were a lot of cats in the field. I would not leave the table that long if you have food that is exposed and unattended. The cats would roam around and some would climb on the table to get appetizers/food. Dinner was buffet style with different dishes: salads, taro rolls, (and different butters), kalua pork, fresh catch of the day (this grilled fish was soo good), chicken, among many others. I liked the desserts which included Kona coffee chocolate cake, pineapple upside-down cake and another one. We enjoyed dinner while listening to the live music/singing from the musicians. The program was good. Comparing this to a different luau in Oahu, even though there were fewer performances and fewer performers in this luau, the performers were very good and very graceful. They had great stage presence. There was a part when a few guests were invited to the stage for a hula dance. The fire dance by the chief was awesome. Very impressive. The photo opportunity at the end of the show was different. The performers remained on the stage and did not go down to be closer to the audience, unlike the other luau I went to where the performers warmly interacted with the audience. Had a great time here. Weather was lovely - no rain and the temperature was just right from that afternoon until the show finished at about 7:30pm. All in all, though the performances, activities, and interaction with the performers were less compared to another luau, the food and performances were great. Would give this a 5/5.

As coffee lovers, Heavenly Hawaiian constantly came up in my research and I'm glad we toured for ourselves. The grounds itself are absolutely gorgeous and that view from the hill onto the ocean is unreal! I can't for the life of me remember our tour guides name but she was such a joy and extremely knowledgeable. Learning about the different coffee variants that are grown such as Kona typica, Progeny 502, and the "boujee girl" Geisha was awesome to learn about and see for ourselves. Did I mention endless coffee sampling? Such a relaxing atmosphere to sip all the coffee you want and enjoy that view. And the cutest cats on the property were such a delight mingling with the guests. All staff members were so helpful and they even treated us with a goodie bag of freshly picked fruits from the farm and a bag of peaberry bites (my new favorite) all as a thank you for paying a visit on our honeymoon! Was not expecting that all but such a sweet gesture! I would highly recommend Heavenly Hawaiian farms to anyone if you're on the Big Island or in the Kona area. We were mesmerized by the beautiful surroundings that this place offers. Well, this might simply be…read morean understatement; I feel that this place deserves more sophisticated accolades than that. Tucked away in the mountains in the south Kona, we were lucky to stumbled upon this unique place. We toured one of its neighbor coffee farms only a few days before we went here so we didn't need to tour another farms. If you end up being in the same situation then go here just to sip some delicious coffee and tea samples and pick up some gifts/souvenirs but most of all, walk around the property to enjoy its stunning environment or just sit in one of the lawn chairs to read a book or quietly meditate. That's exactly what we did. The workers we interacted with were there to give you hospitality. They never force you to buy anything. We hadn't had coffee just yet as we went here mid to late morning so after sampling some coffees and teas we were going to buy some cups of coffee to truly drink a full cup but they didn't even let us; they gave us free of everything (from some complimentary cookies to nuts to munch. What a generous gesture that was!!) After that, we sat in the lawn chairs and spent at least an hour in the spacious yard that overlooks the ocean for some journaling and meditation. With the view and the nature that surrounded us, we were truly healed from inside out. We got to meet and pet all sorts of farm animals. While walking around, one of the female workers (who greeted us upon arrival) came and educate us on all kinds of tropical plants, trees and flowers. She was so personable to us where she truly wanted to get to know us. The hospitality is top-notch at this place. On top of the farm tour, tea ceremonies and coffee tastings they do, they also offer yoga (I think that's what she said), and (possibly) massages. This place is so much more than a typical coffee/tea farm. But most of all, its stunning 80-acre property is in itself a place for people to rejuvenate/recharge/meditate so they'll be refreshed in mind and spirit as they walk away from it. This is like everyone's dream place to work and live. You got to put this place on your "must visit" list while you are in Kona.

We loved trying the fresh fruit and seeing the coffee bean process. After the tour we checked out the property, including the little farm. Lastly, the gift shop was amazing! Loved the coffee tastings, dried fruits, cookies, etc. Yenika was so nice and friendly. We wanted to buy everything! So glad we had some tasty souvenirs to take home!
