One of the most despicable dining experiences in Munich. NOTE: We came at 9 PM on a Monday evening, so my experience might not happen to many but still, avoid this place if you can. Here goes my story/rant:
We came here for sushi (after a fast Yelp search). When we arrived, the service lady told us that we would have 30 minutes to eat, which was fine for us. However, as soon as we sat, she asked what we want to drink. I couldn't even look at the menu and decide without getting a sour look from her. Then after the drinks, she asked us what we want to eat. I told her that I need 2 minutes, and I got another sour look from her as she walked away. Only seconds later, she came back and told us that it was "Feierabend" and that there were no more hot dishes, only sushi. In this case, we were lucky that we came for that.
When I did order, I asked her what is in the "Regenbogen" roll, and she just wrote the order down without answering my question. The order process was hectic and unpleasant, and oh, it only got worse.
When we got our order, we got a wrong item. I ordered 2 pieces of octopus nigiri and 2 pieces of 'Tintenfisch' (squid) nigiri, and instead of squid, we got 2 pieces of avocado nigiri. We told her that we received the wrong items, and instead of apologizing, she said in a flippant tone, "Is that so bad?" Wow, I'm in disbelief. Then when I said we ordered 'Tintenfisch,' the lady specifically pointed to the octopus and told me that this is 'Tintenfisch.' This is where I got irritated. Does she think I am stupid and cannot distinguish squid and octopus??? I had to point to her on the menu that octopus and squid were two different items. Guess what happened? Yep, I got a super sour look as she took our dish back to replace the avocado with the squid nigiris and mumbled probably curse words in Thai about our pickiness.
Once we did get our order, the ladies (yes, there were 2 sour ladies) left us alone, and we speed-ate. No time for pleasantries. They were waiting to go home, and we were just delaying them from doing that. As soon as we finished, we got the bill. I paid, and the lady just walked away without saying anything.
Aside from the nigiris and the 'Regenbogen' roll, we also got a shrimp/spinach and a tuna/avocado rolls. Everything was average, but I regretted getting the squid nigiri as it was a bit old and thus fishy-tasting. The only redeemable (but not enough) point is that most of their rolls cost 3 € each, which is a bargain.
It might had been an unusual circumstance where we got such abominable service, but I do not condone service where they tried to trick their customers and made borderline condescending remarks as if we were bothering them. I don't care if their Thai food is the best; I will never step foot into this place ever again. read more
