Terrible place to do your taxes!! I sat down with them, gave them all my tax information and so on…read more This was 2-3 weeks before the tax deadline. I could see a charge from them for the filing ($165), but the tax money was never taken out of my bank account. I reached out to my 'accountant' CHRIS OSHEA, and he assured me that it would take a few business days and to not worry, that my taxes were all filed and on time. Something told me a few days later to call back and check again, just to try and verify with another employee. I didn't get their name, but they as well assured me that they could see my account and that the actual tax money could take a bit longer to come out of my account. I figured OK, I guess I'm just being too careful and worried for nothing. Long story short, the money never came out of my account and my 'accountant' at the Port Chester branch - CHRIS OSHEA, he never filed my taxes properly!! When I found out that my taxes were never filed and paid properly, I was furious and I tried to contact the Port Chester branch! There was nobody in the office anymore, as tax season was over and done with! I couldn't get anybody to even return my calls after leaving several voicemails at that branch! I finally called the Greenwich branch and was able to get a 'manager' on the line. She listened as I explained the issue, said sorry, but when I asked for a refund, she said she would have to get back to me after discussing with her boss... she never got back to me of course! I received a letter from the IRS a few months later, and was forced to pay a penalty, along with however many days/weeks of interest attached. I will never trust H&R Block again!! You probably shouldn't either!!

I had great experience in prior years but this year is different. I dropped off our tax documents…read moreon Thursday March 5th and usually about 2 weeks to be completed as we were told in prior years. We received a call on Friday March 20th by one of their office staff that our return was ready to be picked up. My husband, son and I went to sign and pick up our tax forms and thought we would be receiving our IRS return roughly 2 weeks from picking up our forms. It is now Monday March 30 almost April and our return was never sent to the IRS by their office and this I only found out because I had logged on to the IRS website to check on our refund but they did not have our information so I called Covati and Janhsen and that's when they said it was never sent to the IRS. So if I didn't check the IRS website for our refund, I would have never known my return wasn't filed. I trusted their office with our documents and return yet our forms just sat somewhere in their office without being filed and without even a call. If I didn't call them who knows how long before our return would have been sent to the IRS if even at all. So disappointed unfortunately we will not be returning.
