I started going to this practice for routine gyn services 9 years ago, on the recommendation of my wonderful PCP. Dr. Tomani and her staff were professional and provided great care for a long time. I even recommended the practice to friends. Gradually, aesthetic procedures and treatments were promoted. I'm not interested in these money-making services; the staff respected my lack of interest. The reason I left this practice was because twice no one called to inform me of the cancellation of early morning appointments. Babies and emergencies come on their own schedule; of course I'd have understood had I just been contacted. But no one bothered to let me know. Not faulting the front desk staff, who were apologetic. It's the lack of communication from a nurse or other patient staff "to" the front desk that seemed to be the problem. When I expressed my dismay, I was treated very rudely by a woman (nurse, medical assistant?) who came to the waiting room from the back patient area. I don't appreciate being disrespected in this manner. Dr. Tomani should look into how some of her staff speak to patients. It's affects her reputation and business. read more

Absolutely incredible team and atmosphere!!! I came here initially on a friend's recommendation while I was trying to get pregnant. After a stillbirth and 18 months of trying, no luck. I STRUGGLED to find someone who would take me seriously being young and "healthy". I was done wasting my time and after my sit down with Madonna I knew I was in the right place. She was full speed ahead with figuring out this equation to give us a baby. She is professional, to the point and has an outstanding personality. You really feel comfortable with her!! She got me scheduled for all the bloodwork and procedures I might need and didn't belittle me for my age or question my motives. She was ready to make me a baby and After a few short months, I was pregnant!!! I am just so grateful for Dr Madonna and her team. They really treated me like family and respected us every step of the way. Her office is AMAZINGLY decorated and suited to make you feel good and elevated. Let's be honest, Gyn appts are yuck but they make the experience the best it can possibly be. I recommend her to anyone and my best friend is now a patient and raves about her as well!! read more

I DO NOT recommend Dr. Tomani. She is unprofessional, rude, and tried pushing for unsolicited cosmetic surgery during a gynecological exam I recently had. This shows a serious lack of professionalism, lack of care for the patient, and perhaps an ulterior motive considering other services offered by the clinic. The last place a woman should feel uncomfortable about their physical appearance is with a fellow female physician whose role is to ensure and improve their health and well-being. It is no wonder to me why so many women have the body image issues they do. You can do better, Madonna and Dr. Tomani. read more

I've been a patient for several years for annual exams, however in the past few years all appointments have felt very rushed, and if I had a question/concern there was an extra charge per question. She tried to sell me a 'pellet' treatment, and after getting a second opinion (and doing my own research), it did not seem to me to be a safe or appropriate option. I did have a total hysterectomy in 2017, and while I'm grateful for the surgery, it seems to me that she is more concerned about rushing through her day and optimizing any additional funding from patients. She is now changing her practice to require an annual fee (over $1000 per year!), with the premise of now being able to provide appropriate testing, labs, etc. But, that's something that should be done anyway without paying a huge annual fee. My daughter and I use Dr. Tamani for her gynecology services and today my daughter went in for lip filler she was quoted $650 to do and when she checked out they charged her $1400 and said it was because they needed to use two syringes of lip filler instead of the one that they originally quoted her for. When I called and asked about it they said we had to do it so you have to pay for it. Maybe they should have told us upfront that the cost will change because we were not expecting to pay twice as much as what we were quoted. I think we will be looking for a new doctor! read more

After trusting this woman for over 10 years, she gave false information about expensive procedures to address postmenopausal symptoms. The procedures were not FDA approved and even had warnings regarding the safety of them. She led me to believe the procedures were painless, safe and effective. They were not. She recommended other extremely costly procedures with the "promise" that these would be effective as well. They were not in fact made the situation worse. Now that she operates a Spa, the environment is one of selling and convincing patients that they need countless procedures to improve their looks and lives. It's so sad because I believe at one time she was an honest and caring doctor. Please do your research before considering this practice. read more

Being a woman ain't for the faint of heart. Neither is this review, so boys and gentlemen, I suggest you leave the virtual living room and let us ladies chat. Let's face it, the idea of stripping and laying on a paper-lined table in preparation for a stranger to enter your nether regions for a "scraping" sounds like a plot for a horror film. Instead, this is the life of every woman who is committed to her health. In general, doctors recommend beginning Pap smear testing at age 21 and then every two or three years to test for cervical cancer. Actually, they look for pre cancers, cell changes on the cervix that might become cervical cancer if they are not treated appropriately. Many times they gather cells to test for HPV, so, generally speaking, this procedure is a great preventative measure. However, as I originally pointed out, the whole scenario can really seem creepy. Until you meet Madonna Dr. Tomani. Her office staff is typical: efficient and professional. Her office is appointed in soothing colors and artwork. Dr. Tomani, however is anything but typical. She is effervescent in her humor and quickly puts her patients at ease. She is stylish and fun and approachable. I would think one would feel safe asking her even the most outlandish questions, and she is seasoned enough to most likely have the knowledge base to answer. While I never look forward to an OB/GYN visit, seeing Dr. Tomani makes it more than bearable. read more

I am in love with this office! Being a new patient here and with the new baby on the way, I was so very nervous to start the process. I had 3 appointments and met dr. Tomani herself, one of the nurses and the ultrasound lady. What a great team!!! All of them were very pleasant and made me feel safe and important. Choosing an MD, regardless of the speciality, can be daunting. For me, I generally rely on my gut instinct because I honestly feel people do better with doctors they trust, like and feel comfortable with. It's unrealistic to expect or even "need" this, but with Dr. Tamani, I know I'll stay healthier because I genuinely feel like my well being matters to her, which in turn makes me more likely to be proactive with my health and not afraid to reach out if I need help. I'm delighted she is moving her practice in a new direction where she will be able to have an even more personal approach to wellness and proactive measures with her new MDVIP program. I think it strongly mirrors her genuine care for her patients. We are fortunate to have a strong medical network here in rochester where both practicioners and patients are savvy enough to demand and provide outstanding care. Having yet another layer of care, resources and the time to tailor individual treatment for patients concentrating on wellness and proactive processes is a huge benefit for patients and seems to match her philosophy as an MD. The bottom line is that I trust her knowledge and experience, genuinely like and respect her as a person and feel confident she will stay one step ahead of my medical needs. Madonna OBGYN is one of the worst practices I've been to. The staff and Dr. Tomani are incredibly rude. I called to speak with them about a bill I received and they refused to help in any way. I should not have been charged for my annual. I also mentioned how my appointment with them was very unprofessional and how they rushed me out the door without even looking at my chart. There was a specific problem I had in the past that she should have asked me about and she didn't. I only come in once a year so it would be nice if they actually did their job. After relaying my concerns to her on the phone she very rudely told me to find a different practice. I would not recommend this place to anyone and if I could give them less than 1 Star I would. read more

I have never been treated so poorly by an entire office of "professionals" in my life, I am sick over it. In my 32nd week of pregnancy carrying twins, I have been argued with, told to find a new doctor, refused to be seen for a scheduled appointment, had my privacy breeched-because in my opinion the receptionists, nurses, and NP's whom I've never even met before should not know every detail about my insurance situation and be asking about mine and my husband's career and insurance choices. On top of making me feel threatened that I don't have a doctor should I go into labor, being talked down to in the main lobby instead of in privacy, and not transferring my files 5 days after my authorized release form was signed until I was put into the position that I had to repeat myself and my intentions more than 5 times between 2 different conversations- I am absolutely sick over the lack of respect, indecency, and lack of tact that anyone has shown. Dr. Tomani has yet to even show her face or give me a call and act compassionate. I wish I could say this is due to my hormones but I know when wrong is wrong. This is all over MONEY. Don't even think about using this office if you feel you may be taken out of work early and be put into a situation where you could use a little help from Medicaid as a secondary insurance for the delivery of your child/children. You will be treated like DIRT. All over secondary insurance. Where is your tact? Despicable. read more

I used to like this office very much, it was all smooth sailing as long as it was smooth sailing. Last Feb the NP was so chatty during my exam that she almost forgot my pap, rushed it, and botched it. Not enough material for analysis. No one called me to reschedule, or ever even mentioned it (don't they look?) and they got paid like clockwork by my insurance. A month later I go to see about tubal ligation. All's great until the biller tells me the procedure won't be paid by insurance unless I have reached my deductible. This was 100% incorrect, they are in-network and it is paid in full, regardless of deductible, but I didn't know that then, and I figured that's what they get paid to know, right? Wrong. So I opt for an IUD instead. When they get started, they say 'did you know you have a huge cervical polyp?' No! Funny the NP didn't mention it last month... Sure enough they stabbed around in there for a good half hour, with multiple people taking a crack at it. No one got the thing in, and they suggested I reschedule with the Doctor herself, who (possibly alone of the whole staff) had not made an appearance. So, still woefully fertile, imagine my shock when I get a bill for that! It wasn't much, under $100, but I told them I wouldn't pay it on the principle. Why should I pay them waste my time and train their staff (agonizingly) on my body, so I can come back and have the doctor do what she should have done in the first place?! They kept sending me the bill. I figured the doctor had not heard of this disagreement so I sent her a letter. She dropped me from the practice before the week was out, and keeps sending that bill, despite having already received nearly $1000 from my insurance company. Do NOT see this Doctor, she is unprofessional, unethical, and discriminates and exploits patients to get money in a variety of ways that are appalling and illegal! Her staff is rude, harasses patients, discloses private information willingly to unauthorized parties, incorrectly bills insurance companies, and sometimes the wrong insurance companies for the wrong billing codes - this has happened to me personally by Julie, and I know for a fact has happened to others at this practice. Donna the office manager and main nurse is rude, condescending, and judgmental and makes patients feel less than. Julie, the main receptionist bullies patients, gives out wrong information, and makes it the patients fault when she is the one at fault. Dr. Tomani abandons patients who are most in need, and will write them off as patients sending them letters with a "deadline date" that they can last ben seen by her, and that date is the EXACT date that the letter is dated. When I called to report the bullying and harassment that I suffered at the hands of Julie, the receptionist, I was not allowed to talk to the Doctor, I was asked personal information by the receptionist that I spoke with - to the point that I had to remind her that if she asked me any further information she was absolutely violating HIPPA, and already had. Donna, the unprofessional, and unethical "office manager," called me back and still continued to insist that I was wrong, which I had proven the day before - that I wasn't. When I asked Donna about my test results coming back she stated that they "probably wouldn't get around to it by the end of the day." It was a Friday. When I asked what I should do about the symptoms over the weekend she stated "there are over the counter medicines that I'm sure will work." When I asked about when the ultrasound would be scheduled she said she wanted to look into "my compliant" first and would call me on Monday - 2 weeks went by and Donna finally called me back, when I asked why I didn't receive a phone call and had to wait 2 weeks Donna stated - "I went on vacation, and I'm the only one that could have called you back." When I asked what was done about Julie's behavior towards me I was told "that's none of your business." Two days after this phone call I received the letter in the mail from Dr. Tomani stating that she was dropping me as a patient and couldn't see me any longer - I have a medical condition and am on medicine that has to be prescribed by an OB, and my condition absolutely necessitates that I be followed by an OB, Dr. Tomani knows this. The letter stated that should I have an emergency medical issue the "deadline" that she gave me to stop seeing me should be sufficient, the deadline was the exact same date as the date at the top of the letter, which the letter was dated for, and I didn't receive the letter until 2 days after the date of the letter and the supposed deadline. If you google Dr. Tomani's name - there are other patients who document and outline this exact same situation, with the exact same events! If you are lucky enough to get into a room to see Dr. Tomani she will rush through your exam, answer zero questions, and you will be lucky to get 5 minutes with her - all the while feeling like you are an inconvenience to her and that she has better things to do. The last visit I had with this practice, I had 2 different nurses in a 5 minute window, and the last nurse couldn't even find a clean room for me. When I finally got to see Dr. Tomani she downplayed my concerns of severe pain that I was experiencing, then she put me on the exam table so quickly and rushed through major concerns that I had that I literally felt like a piece of meat afterwards! She took some labs (which were left out in the open with my name and information exposed) and told me that the labs would be back the next day - I had to call 5 different times to find out if they were in, and suffer over a weekend with the symptoms that the labs were taken for and never heard from anyone until I called again the next week! Dr. Tomani performed a needed surgery on me about 6 months ago and I am now finding out that I shouldn't have trusted her to do that, not only because of this latest experience with her but, that I am now having symptoms that could be a result of her botching the surgery, and that major things were missed by her and the ultrasound tech that should have been found when they sent me for ultrasounds prior to the surgery! These are factual accounts. I have hired an attorney and am taking other measures, including but not limited to reporting to the State Medical Board Of New York State to report the malpractice of Dr. Madonna Tomani and her practice. I am putting this here to warn others so that they don't have to go through the same! Dr. Tomani should absolutely not be a practicing physician - she puts patients health at VERY serious risk in multitudes of ways! read more

I had one visit here and then the staff magically lost my request for release of medical records and never even contacted me or made me aware until I called after not hearing anything. If you are looking for a reliable office this is not it. This place is horrible. I have been going here for a few years and have never been treated like anything but a number. I thought that being an all women's practice there would be more compassion for women with reproductive difficulties.... but that is not home case in my experience. Instead they never give a call back when requested and rush you in and out of there office like they have someone more important to see or more money to make. During my last appointment, I had to call and remind them a day later that I needed them to order my prescription. They also never gave me a cal back about positive test results. Instead my primary care doc called and asked why I had not gotten a prescription yet. I had a surgery scheduled for an ovarian cyst removal and the day of surgery I was called and told Dr. Tomani couldn't do it bc her finger was hurt during childbirth. Instead of helping me get another appointment for surgery I had to go to a new doctor, a month later by referral and he refused to do surgery as he disagreed it's Dr. Tomani's diagnosis. Meanwhile I was in pain this entire time. Money had been taken from my account for my surgery by Madonna OBGYN and was not refunded until multiple phone calls were made. This place does not care about you at all. They care about making the waiting room look appealing to their patients. The only positive experience I have had here is with the receptionists at the desk. But for the most part this place does not give a shit. read more

My wife and I called our insurance company about a bill from Madonna. My Insurance company explained to us that Madonna billed us incorrectly and a change to the bill would be required for us to receive full coverage. We attempted to contact Madonna's office several times to sort it out, however the person who answered the phone refused to listen to our concern and would not let us talk with the manager. After a year of refusing to pay a bill that I believed was incorrect, I was contacted by a debt collector. My wife called Madonna's office again and was surprisingly transferred to a manager for the first time. The manager was initially very helpful, and said she would look into our issue. But after Madonna had read the negative but truthful posts that I had left regarding my issue, she told the manager to refuse to help us, and refused to look into our issue. After some research we decided to dispute the issue with the debt collector and begin the process of collecting the information to prepare for a lawsuit. We called our insurance company to get the details we needed in writing. It was then that our insurance company explained to us that Madonna's billing was correct, and apparently the insurance person we talked with last time did not know what they were talking about and misled us to believe that Madonna had made the error. I would like to apologize to Madonna and her office for this unfortunate mistake, I was wrong and misled by false information. I will be happy to pay the debt that I owe. However this all could have been avoided if someone from your office had cared enough to look into the issue when I first called about it a year ago. It also could have been resolved weeks ago if you did not prevent your manager from looking into the issue out of spite for my negative reviews, (which I would have been more than happy to adjust when the issue was resolved). Your lack of respect for your patients concerns is the reason that I have left my review at 1 star. This issue could have been resolved long ago if your office understood the importance of customer service. read more
