The receptionist is very lively and fun, not to mention an outstanding artist himself. He kept my fiancé and I busy and entertained for hours while we waited for our tattoos. The only reason the wait was long was because they were doing a charity drive for Christmas; a really good deal for the customer, an amazing deal for a kid in need of toys somewhere out there. Shahki, our artist, was a very intent and focused man. I could tell he was incredibly passionate about his work. I received a compass tattoo, it took about an hour, and the pain and procedure was kept to an ABSOLUTE MINIMUM due to his professionalism and what I would consider a relaxed environment. We talked quite a bit during the process and he was very polite and engaging. Overall, I wish I could give this place 100 stars. Great people, great work and great environment. I found this place because my girlfriend was getting work done by Taylor Anne (which is also incredible, but this is my review of my experience) and I was (originally) looking to do a cover up as my next project (but one thing led to another...) I looked at all artists' portfolios (as well as on Instagram), they are all talented and have their own styles, so it is really about who is the best fit for the particulars of the project you want done, not: "who is good here?" I ended up with Rick Rayne, and my original want was: a horror movie sleeve to cover up a tribal tattoo. I communicated with him, shared descriptions and pictures of components I wanted, and he was very honest about how a lot of the ideas were cool and great and he would love to do them, but that most of them would not work well to cover up a substantial tribal tattoo. Both of our enthusiasm about a horror sleeve project made me decide to first get a new sleeve (which switched from arm to leg in the planning stages, just to have more real estate to work with) and while we work on that, thus also having more time to discuss and decide how to best tackle the difficult task of covering up (well) a big tribal. Rick was everything I could ask for, when I saw his work, especially horror/creepy tattoos, I knew I had found my guy. He is very collaborative, bursting of ideas, enthusiastic both during design/brain storming as while doing the actual work, he will tell you if there are drawbacks or trade offs to what you want, without pressuring you one way or the other, only striving to allow you make an informed as possible decision, so you'll be as happy as possible with the result, really loves his craft, is extremely talented and very knowledgeable, proficient and transparent with his process. We have only done one session so far, and the picture does not do it justice, but it does give an idea of how awesome the result is. The parlor was very clean and offered a comfortable wait while my piercer prepared for me. My piercer was C.J. and she is the absolute best. Before we even began my ear piercing I asked her maybe 30 questions on a future piercing I wanted and she answered them all throughly and patiently without missing a beat. As for the actual piercing experience she was careful in making sure the piercing was placed exactly to my liking. She takes her time making sure you're comfortable during the process, talking you through each step. Even for someone like me with a low pain tolerance, she made it such a calm environment that I didn't even flinch when she pushed the needle through my ear. After she was done she cleaned me up and gave a detailed little speech on proper aftercare and a sheet too. C.J. is super knowledge in her field and I will definitely be going back to her for my next piercing(s)!
