A second marriage for both us, we engaged Laura, prior to our wedding not due to any acute crisis but to become more mindful of our own histories and how these might impact the relationship. One of the many insights gained working with Laura over the years is that each partner is responsible for 100% of their 50% of the relationship (LOVE that!!). We were also familiar with the book, Getting the Love Your Want by Harville Hendrix and Helen LaKelly Hunt, best known for co-creating Imago Relationship Therapy. Laura is a certified practitioner of Imago, blending it with her unique style of facilitation. Imago offers many relationship building blocks, such as mirroring and sharing appreciations that fundamentally changed how we communicate. In many ways, Laura is like a relationship coach, holding us accountable for our respective 100% that we each bring to the relationship. Our marriage continues to thrive and benefit from our time and investment with Laura!

She's a HUGE fan of the up-sell. Don't go there looking for a psychiatrist because you won't get it. What you will get, however, is her attempt to use TMS, DNA studies and EEG's. They will do absolutely anything to charge your insurance and make as much $$$ as they can. She tends to disappear and, in my situation, when I finally got in contact with her after quarantine, she told me (and this is a direct quote) that she'd "given up on me." She also accused me of missing appointments, when I didn't. I can't imagine *ANY* doctor telling one of their patients that they "gave up on (them)." They also charged my insurance for an office visit when all I did was send in a refill through my pharmacist. They're investigating her for fraud. Oh....and her husband that works the front desk? Worthless. Works with patients far too much and he's no doctor. Find ANYONE else. Literally. Anyone. Find a bum in Times Square to talk to. They'll be more reliable.

I started my sessions shortly before the beginning of the pandemic, and so the majority of my sessions have been virtual. That's diminished neither the quality nor the connection I've been able to build - Julia's been able to significantly help me with my career and relationships in ways I didn't even imagine. The internal family systems model is certainly unique, but I recommend it to all my friends as a really effective way to get to the root causes of things. There's certainly now a "before therapy" and "after therapy" in my life - and the after therapy is a much happier, healther, and calmer person. Thank you Mindful Psychotherapy!

L.H.M.C. also offers therapists and I took them up on that service as well. I started working with a refreshing woman named Sari Neave about two months ago. Having been in therapy for about 25 years and working with three different therapists I was quite jaded and not too optimistic but was in enough pain that I knew I had to give it another try. Well, I'm happy to say I believe I've made more progress in the two months I've been working with Sari than in the entire 25 years prior. Sari, is insightful, intuitive, and very encouraging. Sari is very professional and has a very real and authentic persona that is refreshing to be working with. I don't feel like I am in therapy my my 6th grade teacher or some disconnected counselor. What I didn't know was that my connection to Linda would prove to be so much greater. We began our sessions together in couples therapy to try a revive an 8 year relationship I had with my fiancé and father of two children. During our sessions together I learned that many of the problems I was experiencing were self inflicted because I wasn't listening to my higher being. Linda has delivered me from my pain and suffering, as well as increased my faith and love for God. She has opened my eyes to my true calling and I am finally living with peace in my heart from releasing all the burden and pain I experienced throughout my childhood and adult life. For the first time in over 3 decades I am able to lay my head and sleep peacefully through the night. I feel that I have been given a second chance at life.
