The young very tall guy that took care of us was so nice , and so patient while my daughter and I chose the perfect cuckoo clock ! It was a wonderful experience ! We loved him !!! We had the clock delivered and upon delivery one of the chains Came loose .. we called and spoke to Christian the owner who was wonderful and so patient .. he walked my husband through each step and how to connect the chain back onto the wheel ! I love this store and I'm so glad that I returned 40 years later with my daughter ! If In Zurich this is the place to get all your souvenirs! Thank you so much for keeping my memory alive ! Here's a list of items that they sell: -Custom Swiss belt (average price 250-300CHF) -Cow Bells (range from 12.50 to Thousands of CHF) -Smoke Pipe -Tin Matchbook (15-18CHF) -Rings -Dog collars (45-55CHF) *this is most of the items that they sell, but not all. While I was waiting to pay, a couple of folks came in and picked up their custom Swiss belts. The order takes about 2 to 8 weeks to complete. You'll have to be a bit patient because this shop is tiny and it can get crowded quickly. I highly suggest enjoying your time looking around and taking your time because you can't rush in this store. Through word of mouth we heard about Oliver's shop in Triberg; cuckoo clock central in the Black Forest. I searched the web and after much back and forth Oli shipped the perfect clock right to my front door. My house is now a home. "cuckoo" Note: the clock came bubble wrapped in a box of peanuts inside another box of peanuts. But shipping by sea from Germany took many weeks.

Now it's in the repair shop where I have to spend 50% of the purchase price to get it fixed into the shape it should have been in when I bought it. Avoid this place like the plague, and keep reading for details. I bought a clock here in October 2015 after doing my research and finding that this shop was supposedly the best in the Black Forest. I spent a whole month's salary on a clock expecting that I was paying for quality. I had a slight problem when I first received the clock in the mail. One of the dancers on the turntable was out of place so it kept getting stuck in the doorway. I asked Oli's to fix it, and they told me to just pop the dancer off and re-glue it in the proper place. I was irritated, but thankfully my dad is a woodworker and could help. I let it go. But now, less than 5 years later, my clock completely stopped working. My local clock expert who is doing the repairs said that the mechanism Oli's used to build my clock was made in the 1970s. The cuckoo bird hasn't been made in over 50 years. The dancers were supposed to spin as they turned around the turntable - they've never done that. Oli's is taking shortcuts and using old parts and passing them off as brand new clocks. So much for being the best clockmakers in the Black Forest. The only thing they're best at is being shady.

An American review: We were in search of steins for our…read morecollection. After traveling far and wide we finally came across this place. Outside, on the wall of the building, they had a collection far greater than any of the one's we had yet seen. Upon entering we learned that it was merely a fraction, a microcosm, of what they had in stock. Shelf upon shelf of steins! I found the help very friendly and courteous. They were accommodating. They offered us options to help with our purchase. We were able to purchase our steins and horns there and, instead of the cumbersome task of carrying them on the plane, fearful that they would break in transit, they offered SHIPPING! By having them shipped you can avoid the %19 tax, pay the shipping (which actually saved us money) and have them safe and securely delivered right to your door! I will say, be patient, shipping can take some time (as long as you don't need them immediately it's worth it). It took a little over 3 weeks but That's OK! They were packaged with so much padding and in such a large box to insure no damages that my TWO young children were able to actually climb inside and hide in the packaging-peanuts! I may even order more from the USA and just have them ship it! If not, we will return again to their shop upon the next visit to Meersburg! Oh, and the steins, many were limited editions, came with documentation. The horns seemed expensive At First, 49 euros, but I eventually realized they weren't. We found some a few minutes walk up from their shop, but don't be deceived. They were great- but for children. They were definitely cheaper, around 16 euros, BUT they were much, much smaller, not something you could drink out of, were not polished the same way, did not have the crest/emblem affixed to the side and they don't come with the stand. After the %19 reduction it brought it down to 40 euros, well worth it in the difference in quality that we received. It was a quick one-stop place to get all our stein/horn needs for our collection. They were so nice they even gave our children some small gifts. My son even purchased a (Steiff) Knopf im ohr- cute little animal for his sister and she loves it. Hope this review was helpful. Our experience was a positive one. They met our needs. We found exactly what we were looking for. They worked with us. Gave us options that worked with our situation. Saved us time.
