Then he took fake calls from the same number acting like he was such a big deal and telling people what to do. He goes way off the main drive speeding thru back roads. THEN he complains about traffic and says he can't do this and drops us off 3 MILES from our car in a not safe area (according to our sweet Uber driver who helped us after). All the while he tells us how he did us a favor getting us that far, while we see the Jolley Trolley has come and gone from our destination. Never again.

It's an electric runned mobile and the drivers were always nice and friendly. Weekdays, they go until about midnight. We took it to the bars on Ocean Blvd (about a 2-3 mile walk from our resort). Coming from Chicago, price isnt that bad. You call them when you're ready to go back, have another round, and they'll be there when they say they will! In front of your bar :)

At 5:35 I called the number that called me back and got a different male that said we were not on his list and there was nothing he could do to help us!!!! We were left scrambling and quickly realized that getting another driver at that hour on Sanibel/Captiva is nearly impossible -- something we later learned is unfortunately pretty common. Thankfully, Exquisite Services absolutely saved us. They stepped in immediately when Uber dropped the ball and made sure we got to the airport on time. The professionalism and reliability were night and day compared to our experience with Uber. This was a hard lesson learned: I won't ever rely on Uber for something this important again. Small city rides? Sure. But for airport transportation or anything that truly matters -- no chance. We are incredibly grateful to Exquisite Services for taking care of us when it counted most.

While so doing, I quickly walked my dog who needed to relieve himself after a long travel day. My companion tipped driver $20. When I returned, Uber was gone. My handbag (lime green tote) was still in the back seat. (It contained many valuable items totaling thousands and thousands of dollars -such as cash and gold jewelry, not to mention wallet, iPad and iPhone - because I was moving through airports that day.). In all likelihood, the value of this theft would qualify for a first degree felony charge. Immediately, my companion made 2 calls to driver and texted twice. Driver ignored. Then, my companion called Uber to report the loss. Uber immediately attempted to contact driver. Driver ignored his employer as well. After 3 days, driver responded to Uber that "he couldn't find anything". For that meager reason , Uber determined that the matter had been "resolved". Thereafter Uber REFUSED to offer any assistance to myself or my companion. Uber would not provide the driver's name or any other relevant information. I filed a police report. I hired a private investigator. I composed a detailed letter to Uber Chief Legal Counsel as well as their Vice President for Safety. BOTH EXECUTIVES COMPLETELY IGNORED ME. It has been over a month without any response from UBER. I recommend you don't ever use UBER. In a case such as driver theft, the customer is OUT OF LUCK. Uber's business model is obviously designed to protect its drivers and disrespect the customer. Such policies are UNACCFEPTABLE. PS. After thorough investigation, I am aware of this driver's criminal history. Shame on Uber for failing to explore this driver's character and integrity.

This company states they could be with us in an hour. Called back and re-estimated it to be 45 minutes. He made sure we would use the service as the driver was traveling to us. We promised and stopped our search. After almost an hour we call to check and are told it would be another 20 minutes. Takes almost double that so by the time she's there we already know we'll never make it. The driver stated that the dispatch "didn't account for traffic". Their words! Lady was nice but her car stunk like cigarettes and I got a terrible headache from the stench. $1k later we are on a later flight. Received a request to give feedback and send a simple message stating what happened and they send me a nasty message telling me the driver was on time (100% not true) and to book ahead next time (we did!), then conceded and stated they "did their best". Rude and dishonest and unprofessional. AVOID!!!

This was my husband's and my first visit to Siesta Key, FL, and in case the traffic was heavy, we wanted the option to get a quick ride for cheap around the beaches and not have to take our big truck and find a place to park. The owner of the resort where we're staying said to try them. I called to get the low down, and the guy was polite and answered all my questions without problem. So I said that when the opportunity presents itself, I'd be calling for a ride because I had heard that the weekend was the time not to try to get around because the beaches are busy. So here we are yesterday, Sunday, and I've got to get to a restaurant in downtown beachdum before the close at 2:30p. I call at 1p to ask about how long before the "gentleman" can arrive at my resort, and was told about 20-25 min. OK -- it would be tight for a leisurely lunch, but I asked him to come and get us. We sat and waited and about 20 min. pass when I get a call on my phone and I say, "Are you out front?" He says, "Uh, I'm going to be about another 30 min because I'm stuck on the other side of the draw bridge and can't get there!" Well, now that means we won't even get to the restaurant until about 2p and will have to stuff lunch down, so I tell him that we're trying to get to a place before they close, and I appreciate his effort, but we've got to go and we'll just drive, so no thank you. We jump in our truck and start on our way when I receive a text from him that goes something like this: I don't know where you're from, Miss but around here we treat people with respect. I'm going to block your number so don't bother calling for another ride cause I'm blocking you! I couldn't believe it! I was not rude, I just couldn't wait any longer! Against my better judgement, I responded to his text saying, Go right ahead and block me because I'm blocking YOU! Where I come from, when people are counting on my business to be on time, we are on time! I will not only never call for a ride from you again, but I'm going to let EVERYONE on Yelp know about you as well! He had to get the last word before I actually blocked him and said, "I hope your lunch was worth the trouble." (whatever that meant) So, that is what I'm trying to warn you about. There are several taxi services here on Siesta Key, and I strongly recommend you call someone other than Surf Side Free Ride. You probably won't get a ride, but will get a nasty text for your wait time "trouble!" This guy was beyond rude.
