I couldn't appreciate its 70 foot height but fortunately the natural area is respected, didn't see any garbage or human made etchings. It overloooks a parking lot, so it is easy to park and take a closer look. It is on the side of the Belching Beaver and is pretty easy to find. It is a bit outside of the city, so you will need a car to get here. It is in an artsy part of town though, which is pretty cool. Anyway, as with most murals that I have visited and reviewed, this is not a long stop. I was there less than 5 minutes. So, you may want to consider planning out additional stops at many of the other attractions in the area, or making this stop part of a larger itinerary to maximize your time and trip. Since we saw an action movie, it truly made the experience memorable. The seats also had buttons for you to adjust the intensity of the movement. A lot of theatres use "buttery toppings" that don't have dairy, but most employees can't be bothered when asked if there is any dairy/milk product in them. Here however, Landon kindly pulled out the ingredients which set me at ease! Some of the DBOX seats were in bad shape with large rips and cracked padding. Fortunately, ours were okay. Since the specialty seats were about the same price ($25) as basic reclining seating in most theatres today, I will definitely be watching the next movie here using DBOX seating!

One studio's sculpture garden was my favorite. The sculpture used a lot of mirror shards in his pieces. Got some unique necklace pendants etched using technology originating with NASA. Enjoyed talking to some artists as well. Lessons for children and adults available. A lot of work is pricey, reflecting handmade work. The village has an unexpected history, too. It is common knowledge that the park was the site of the 1915 Panama-California Exposition. During World War II, the park also served as training grounds for soldiers and the Spanish Village were barracks. Fun time here with a good coffee place here as well.

From the moment you walk in, everything feels calm, quiet & beautifully maintained. Hubby & I spent the morning at a museum around the corner & decided to walk over to check out the garden. I could have spent hours wandering through the winding paths, admiring the stunning koi ponds filled with colorful fish, listening to the soothing sounds of the waterfalls & taking in all of the lush greenery surrounding the garden. The flowers were absolutely gorgeous & smelled heavenly. I especially loved all of the vibrant leafy greens, bamboo, trees & delicate plants that made the entire space feel so tranquil & immersive. There are so many little hidden corners & scenic spots to sit, relax, meditate & just enjoy the sounds of nature. It is definitely the kind of place that instantly lowers your stress level. The garden is beautifully designed with traditional Japanese touches throughout, making it feel both elegant & welcoming. Whether you are looking for a quiet afternoon, a romantic stroll, beautiful photo opportunities or simply a break from the busy city, this place is a gem. We left feeling refreshed & relaxed. Our driver was nice enough to give us a short tour on the way, which was a nice touch. We ended up seeing the Botanical Building and lily pond area, and both were lovely and picturesque. I honestly felt like I was in Europe with the architecture of the buildings. Next, we made our way to the Spanish Village Art Center, and it felt like I had stepped into a movie set, very surreal and colorful. I would highly recommend Balboa Park for any first-time visitors to San Diego!
