This past weekend we smelled gas and had to have the gas company come out and check our dryer. Turns out there was no leak , the technician said more than likely there was a blockage in the vent which was not allowing the dryer to ventilate properly. I have never had this occur so I had no idea it was even a thing. I messaged a few companies on yelp and received a few responses. Omg, what can I say. This company is fantastic. I had originally scheduled my appointment for Thurs and unfortunately the electric company had maintenance repair on that day. So no electricity, I recontacted them early that morning and they were very understanding and rescheduled me for next day. I live in Keene (Hart Flats) and so happy they were able to help me. Jordy came out and was able to clean out my dryer vent and remove lint from dryer. He even showed me that dry duct (at dryer) was placed on wrong and bent. Replacing it for me without an extra cost. After having a dryer technician out to replace a heat sensor in our dryer, the technician let us know that there had been a fire in the dryer vent and asked when we last had the vent cleaned. It was "cleaned" in March, 2024.He asked if the guy who did the vent cleaning had pulled out the dryer and cleaned the wall vent. Unfortunately, he did not. He only cleaned from the roof vent down. Just had a great experience with MacVac. In an older home-new to me- I bought a brand new washer and dryer and the dryer never really got hot... so I figured out the ducts were probably clogged and set out to remedy the situation. I'm outside of Tehachapi, and no one in town had the time or seemingly the interest to address the problem, so I finally contacted MacVac down in Bakersfield. I communicated with Mac, set an appointment, and technician Jordy just finished his service call. The amount of dust and junk he vacuumed out of the dryer vent with his specialized equipment was... scary. He explained what he was doing and why, fixed a bunch of small issues to improve the performance of my dryer, and it works! It gets hot like it should and I'm not afraid of burning down the house. Yes I had to pay an extra charge to get MacVac up from Bakersfield... but the peace of mind, good communication, timeliness, and a dryer that dries were all worth that surcharge and MacVac's regular reasonable service fee. Over the years, I've had my dryer vent cleaned by various professionals...some retired, others were adequate in getting the job done, but not enough to make them my "first and/or only" call for a second appointment; but last June I hired MacVac to clean the dryer vent & I was amazed at the service! Pulled out both machines, washer & dryer, cleaned out the vent completely from top to bottom(at the wall, up through the pipe & climbed up on the roof...even made some cuts in the vent cap that would improve air flow out of the vent) eliminating all the lint build-up, checking the vent hose for damage prior to reattaching, checked the washer water hoses for any potential issues, testing the dryer afterward, and then cleaning both machines as well as the floor. Talk about going above & beyond! I knew I would be a repeat customer for annual servicing! Forward six months...My very large cat decided that hanging out in the laundry room behind the machines was his new thing. Not a lot of space to get back there or turn around, but he wasn't getting stuck so I just forgot about it. Turns out, he tore up the dryer vent hose. Fortunately, I knew who to call...MacVac came out within 24 hours, replaced the hose, cleaned out the vent, tested everything so I'm good to dry! Also, the replacement is much sturdier than what I had before, so if Mikey (my cat) still gets back behind the dryer, it will withstand his claws! I highly recommend MacVac, they did an excellent job & I couldn't be happier! My LG front load dryer has never worked great, it's never heated up right or even dried clothes in one cycle. I was considering buying a new dryer, thinking that would fix the problem. Then one evening my dryer started smoking, I immediately ran and turned it off and unplugged it. We called our home warranty to have then look at the dryer. The technician came out & took the dryer apart. He found burnt lint all over the inside of the machine. He said our dryer vent (from the wall to roof) was definitely clogged and needed to be professionally cleaned. The tech then cleaned out the entire dryer and said once the vent is cleaned out the dryer should work. Our technician recommended we call MacVac for the vent clean out. We called MacVac, I talked to the owner. He was very polite and explained everything that he would do in detail. (The price was very reasonable for all that he does) MacVac came out on time, they were very professional & did and excellent job! They got on the roof & cleaned out the vent. They took their time to ensure the entire vent was totally cleaned out and no longer obstructed with lint buildup. When they came down, they informed me that the entire vent was totally blocked & cleared it with no problem. They also checked all the lines to the washer & dryer and will replace anything that needs to be for no extra cost. Then hooked up the machines and tested to make sure they were ready. My dryer instantly got very hot (something it's never done prior). They finished the job by cleaning my entire laundry room, even mopping the floor. It was so clean and smelled amazing! My brother-in-law was having issues with his dryer. I looked at it and determined it was likely a clogged vent. I called MacVac and they came and cleaned out the dryer vent and recommended it be serviced annually. Overall I believe they did a great job. They arrived on time, was there less than an hour, dryer works great now! I did have to have them return to remove some lint/debris that was left hanging on the exterior vent termination on the roof.
