I lost my SIM card and needed a replacement without losing my phone number. Once I found the actual store, I told the girl at the front I was looking for someone who spoke English. She brought me to a nice man who had very good English and understood when I said I wanted a replacement SIM rather than a new one. Showed him my number, ID, and paid 59 pesos and within minutes he had a new SIM activated. I put it in my phone and it worked right away. Simple, easy, and cheap enough for my boneheadedness of losing my SIM card.

Telcel chat support (only in Spanish) was not helpful so I had to go back to the store. Initially the person told me that I used up my data (I purchased for 15 days where I only needed 8 days), as of yesterday when it stopped working I only used 3 days. Since he was confident that the reason was the lack of data I had to buy more data for 30 days, where I only needed for 4 more days. Unfortunately that DID NOT fix the issue, still could not call or text. I demanded for refund since they forced me to purchase something I did not really need.. they were adamant and refused. I just purchased there, 15 minutes ago, based on the guy's recommendations...HELLO!! For a brief moment it seemed to have worked so I just left (knowing that I completely wasted my 200 pesos f'or extra data that I wont be even needing) and again it stopped working an hour later. During my precious vacation time I wasted many hours, $$ (for only half good SIM card)
