Fives is a an excellent independent record shop and has been part Leigh's high street for years…read more Sandra and Tony are passionate about music and give great advice and service. Fives are also a champion for local music and are a real help to local unsigned bands, offering in-store showcases, selling vinyl/ CDs with little or no mark up and always promoting gigs. With an excellent selection of vinyl and a really great catalogue of blues, jazz and classical as well as all the new releases there really is something for everyone if you have time to browse. Also if you need something they will order it in and call you when it's in. Great service, great shop and independent! Hope it's around in Leigh for many more years.

From the prices that they charge you'd think that you were getting some great service but they don't seem particularly interested in making either conversation or recommendations so all the times I've visited its been somewhat of a sombre affair. I must be honest I don't even remember them having music playing which is odd for a record shop??? Its a shame because with a bit of love and attention it could be truly great. The stock is there, its just laid out in such a drab fashion that it makes you forget it existed. Get rid of the dull grey cantilever wall racks, make it look a bit more airy and up to date and perhaps involve some customer service and it would go far!

Coffee and music, two of my favourite things…read more Hot Salvation is a record store which also has a coffee bar, they serve up Square Mile coffee through a pour over and also do pots of tea, both can be enjoyed chilling at the bar by the window or whilst your perusing the kicking vinyl selection they have in stock. I love this place, give it a look when visiting sunny Folkestone.

An excellent smaller second hand record shop in the centre of ramsgate town centre that offers a…read morewide range of music for all listeners, with both cd and vinyl catered for. although only a small shop, it packs a lot in, with a pretty solid filing system so you can always find what you are looking for and knowledgeable staff who are happy to help with any queries that you may have. A good place to hunt down that album that you've been looking for, or just to have a browse and find something new and interesting. They also have a small selection of second hand dvd's on the side wall, all at reasonable prices, so worth a visit
