To my absolute surprise, Joe said he would be there within 2 hours. When he arrived, my problem was diagnosed in 10 minutes. Joe gave me the options he could accommodate; we talked about them and the payment options available, and he got to work immediately. I had heat again before my baby girl's bedtime! Terrible service, both in quality of products and installation as well as customer service. Joseph seems to be racist, or otherwise possibly just generally disrespectful. Very disappointing. He left our family with no solution for our 100 degree home. Two young children and wife just out of major surgery. He installed all new hvac components two years ago. Left our home mumbling and grumbling saying he just didn't want to deal with it. Don't waste your money, choose a bigger company that has the knowledge, resources and desire to help you out when you need it most! These folks are terrific. They work cleanly, and responded to us in a true emergency. My daughter was ill, and we spent the night up with her, and in the middle of it all, our heat went out in freezing temperatures. While I rushed her to the hospital in Philadelphia, I made arrangements with Mac to survey the damage, and to give us the bad news. The heater was over 20 years old and needed replacement, and he came in at a reasonable price. I had no time to compare prices, and just went with him on a guy feeling and based on the reviews here. When I checked others after the fact, they were a good deal higher in price for similar units/installation. The heater was replaced by the end of the day, the same day of my initial call. The sheet metal work was tight and professional looking, with easy access to the filter, which was a standard size. I would highly recommend these folks. read more

If I could give this vendor minus stars, I would. I absolutely would not recommend Mac's Heating & Air. Joseph initially seemed like a nice young man. Was I wrong. I signed up for an annual maintenance contract with him this year (2018). It worked well until near the end of the contract when my heater started leaking. Joseph came out to fix it and said he needed to order a part. Four weeks later, having been very unresponsive with several different excuses, he said he couldn't get the part and I needed a new heater. I asked him for a quote for a new HVAC system, which he gave me, and I told him I would do my due diligence and get back to him. I obtained a quote through Costco which was over $1,000 less, for what I believe to be a better HVAC system and installed by professionals. I notified Joseph via email, attached to his quote, of my decision that I was going with Costco. Joseph called me at 7:19 AM to rant, scream and belittle me. He accused me of being a racist for not buying the system through him and for being a coward. He continued his angry tirade and insulted me for several minutes and then abruptly hung up on me. He called back 30 seconds later and did the same thing all over again! He was beyond being rude and disrespectful, very unprofessional. I did nothing to deserve his offensive behavior. If this is the way he treats senior citizens, how does he treat everyone else? FOOTNOTE: The broken part for the heater, that Joseph said he could not get, (resulting in the need for a new heater) I found on the internet, at a Goodman distributor, in stock and available for $50.59, plus shipping. Terrible service!!! Refused to come out last July and check out a newer a/c system HE installed. I called him and he said he would call me later that night. No call and then when I called him he claimed I didn't answer my phone and he left msgs. The next morning I called HIM and told him I never got a msg from him, he said he would be there in 30 mins. Then he immediately called me back and said he wasn't coming out because didn't like my attitude. Called another local company and was repaired same day (low on freon) at my expense. This company is horrible and will waste your time. They were suppose to come between 11-12 and never showed up, texted 2 hours later said he's 20 mins away never showed up. Wish I could put 0 stars. Fridge wasnt working and he said he would be there between 2-4. I called at 4:15, and he switched it to 4-6. Called at 6 and he said within 30 mins. Called at 6:30, and he didnt answer the phone. Finally calls back after hour of ignoring calls and texts and makes up an excuse. I took off work to get this fixed today and waited in living room from 2 til 7. I warn you, DO NOT SPEND MONEY/TIME with this company. Take your business elsewhere. I have been using Mac's for probably about 8-10 years for everything and anything related to appliance repairs, heating, cooling and plumbing. He has fixed my washer, dishwasher, refrigerator and installed a gas line for a new gas range. He is truly an honest serviceman. There have been times when I called him and he advised me to not use him to fix something, told me how to replace the problem unit myself and only charged me half the service fee for showing up. Today I had a problem with the heater he installed over 6 years ago and he came within hours of my call and fixed it under warranty. I wasn't expecting anything free from him, he is just the first person I call if I can't fix something myself. The only thing I could say about those who were upset about him not getting to you when he said he would is because he cares about his customers and will stay until the problem is fixed. He might get there later but he will stay late and get it done. I cannot recommend Joey Mac enough and have recommended him many times! read more
