Ma Come No is one of our frequent restaurants of choice when traveling on business and staying at the Hotsson Hotel in downtown Leon, Mexico. It is a short walk from the hotel across the main drag and offers an Italian menu with a wide selection of pastas, beef, chicken and fish. It even offers wood-fired pizzas with all the toppings you would find at Dominos.
I love the fact that the bottles of Modelo Especial, Pacifico and even Corona are served ICEY COLD at the "komay-town" as we have nicknamed it. A colder bottle you won't find anywhere and after a long day that is much appreciated.
On this visit to Ma Come No, I ordered my favorite onion soup which comes adorned with a delicious baked pastry/cheese crown covering the sweet onions buried below deep in the crock. I jump for it every time I dine here. The onions are among the sweetest I've had this side of Vadalia. Don't miss this delicious and highly recommended appetizer.
For my entree, I ordered the tuna steak with asparagus and 'shrooms. I generally get my tuna cooked "tres-quatro" here with a pink center. The one inch slab was grilled perfectly and is always a great choice here. Two others in our group ordered pasta dishes al dente with generous portions of their sauce of choice. Both looked outstanding with fresh parmasean sprinkled atop.
I say YES to Ma Come NO with four big ones. read more
