I did some research and found this garage. I called and had my car towed. Since this happened a late Friday afternoon I had to wait until Monday afternoon to hear the news. I let the garage do diagnostic and was immediately told it would not switch gears. The guy told me it would be $5000 straight across for the parts and installation. I didn't have the funds so I decided to get it towed to a friend who knows a little bit about cars. Turns out, not even the transmission! GET A SECOND OPINION!! They charged me money for shop fees, and the only reason I was there was to get the recall done. They acted angry that I wasn't willing to spend the $1600. I've dealt with Toyota for years and I've bought 10 vehicles, and I've never had a dealer tell me I needed this preventative maintenance.
