On Father's day weekend, 2012, Melissa McCoy of McCoy Travel literally closed up her office without notice to her customers or employees, leaving untold numbers of clients in limbo, without their money, without their travel being paid for, and without a lot of recourse. I was one of those customers affected, as I had a group trip in the works through her company where many of my customers had already paid by check to get the "cash discount" rate and they had no way to get their money back. Some of my customers were able to file fraud claims with their credit card companies and get reimbursed for credit card payments. Luckily for us, our trips were ultimately saved by one of McCoy's discarded employees.. I am submitting this review in 2015 because it has come to my attention that McCoy Travel is back in business and I see a new website is up and running. If you are thinking of using McCoy Travel, buyer beware: Melissa McCoy has no conscience, no scruples, and has still NOT reimbursed me and my customers. Melissa McCoy may be under McCoy Custom Travel and Cruise now. Either way, I would NEVER book through her again. She took our honeymoon deposit of $1,000 and we never saw it again. When trying to contact her, she had in fact disappeared, leaving her staff and clients with nothing. Even the resort we stayed at in Fiji was owed several thousand dollars from her. When she did finally respond to several calls and emails, she denied ever taking a deposit. Of course, I have proof because I paid by check to McCoy Travel but have never received a dime. Do us a favor Melissa..if you're going to "rebuild your life and business" do it without selling travel where you screwed so many people over. It is such a slap in the face! read more

Melissa did a great job setting up a cruise for us last minute. After a hurricane hit our initial destination, we needed to move fast. She even worked on a weekend for us and got it done. We live on Maui and have used Mccoy trovel many times. read more

McCoy Travel gave us very good recommendations on our recent vacation to Maui. Being a family of 5, it is very difficult to find the right place to stay at and have everyone be happy. In addition, we don't want to break the bank when we go on vacation. Melissa recommended Sugar Beach Resort. Once at the resort, the views were absolutely breathtaking! We enjoyed many long walks and everyone was so nice there. She even recommended the Haleakala Zipline which was so much fun!! A-----MAZING...!!! Six years ago when my husband and I were getting married, we were planning our honeymoon to Hawaii to spend 21 days in paradise, but we had no idea where to begin. The accomodations were everything we wanted and could ever need ... the amenities and sophistication of a resort, yet with rooms that have a full kitchen, large lanai, breathtaking view and spectacular grounds... needless to say... we lived the life of luxury for 14 days and went home having had THE BEST vacation in all our years of travel....and I credit McCoy Travel completely. They are like having your own personal tour guide because of their lifetime of knowledge of the islands, the island happenings and the tourism hotspots.
