Established for the large staff at the University of Adelaide some forty years ago, or thereabouts, this is where they could know that their young pre school aged children were being taken care of by a trained staff who would have an ongoing interest in the children's development. The tradition continues today so that any couple with young children considering taking work in the University will have an option to send their young pre school children here. It is not in the city and stands very close to wide open space just beyond the river so mum and dad are not too far away.
