I found the man's number in the billfold and called him directly to let him know that I had possession of it but he had already canceled all of his credit cards after calling Lakelawn who told him they did not have it. We moved to another property in Yarmouth and Lakelawn refused to reimburse us money for the stay. My wife noticed they offer a discount to anyone who will write a favorable review to TripAdvisor. Our group of nine strongly recommend against this property.

The front staff was extremely friendly and efficient. While checking in I requested extra pillows and blankets and they were in the room by the time I parked the car. The room was spacious and spotless. The shower pressure and water temperature were perfect. The restaurant staff for breakfast were very quick and the food was tasty. The price was very reasonable. We did not have time to enjoy the pool but it looked very inviting. We will definitely stay here the next time we are in Yarmouth.

We were just spending the night waiting for the ferry, fortunately, but I can only barely recommend it for that. The oddity of the night we were there was that they were hosting a wedding (oh, the poor Bride) and had some other event, so we didn't even have adjacent parking. The parking lot across the street, downhill, was dirt and gravel. And we got no help, once again, with our stuff, for love or money. I realize Yarmouth has seen better times, but I have to think there's a better alternative around for the quick night's stay, and I certainly hope there's one for the longer-term resident.

Tru was created during the pandemic, and so it is bright, metallic, open and probably easily cleaned. Those would seem to be the virtues as far as we are concerned. To be more specific, our room was very quite small, there was no closet (only several wall hooks), the AC was noisy. Our bed was comfortably firm, and the bathroom was clean. But then, the floors have no rugs, so it's easier to keep everything clean, we presume. All in all, we felt like we were visiting in some sort of experimental domicile. The lobby is very open with seating spread out, and the hotel urges visitors to sit and hang around there. Oh yeah, the breakfast bar offered pretty limited selections and wasn't very tasty. I wanted something very close to the ferry since I was coming in in the evening and need a good night's rest before moving to my next destination a few hours away. When I checked in, the woman up at the front desk was very friendly and I learned that I could park right in front of my room...in front of the sliding glass doors, that is. Not only could I unload/load from the back of my room... the sliding glass door were double glass. Like 2 different sets of doors. I'm not sure if that was as insulation from harsh cold winters or if that was a safety factor. Or both. Either way, you could not get in without going inside the front door and opening the door from the key inside the hall, but then you could unlock both doors and get to your car from the back of your room. I had never seen this kind of set up before - and I thought it was quite convenient. Especially in my situation where I am traveling with pets and have a lot to bring in and back to the car... Once inside, although everything was brown...and kinda dated...it was spacious, had everything I needed, a giant tv, a clean and comfortable bed, plenty of space to put all of my stuff and my pets' stuff... And, it was CLEAN! The bathroom was clean, the shower had its own bar of soap along with the bathroom sink (so happy for that...finding many places only providing ONE bar). Also, they had shampoo and conditioner on the wall. I usually like to go OUT for breakfast and find local fare. But I was on a mission to go on an excursion and I was late so I had breakfast there. I was super happy to see a make your own waffle station, there were hot scrambled (and seasoned) eggs and shot sausage patties. I also had coffee and a little bit of apple juice. I was pleasantly surprised at how tasty ALL of it was. It was quick and free. When I went to the front desk after breakfast, I mentioned I was running out on an excursion and might be running a little late...they were so nice and let me have a late check out (requested the night before) and when I got back from my excursion, I was later than I expected and took longer getting packed up and into the car with all the pet stuff... I told them I would understand if they needed to charge me something for staying so much later than our original agreed-to late check out time... They said that wouldn't be necessary. What lovely people! And what a lovely place. I have no idea why the other reviews are so bad - I an only say none of them are recent so maybe something changed...? But this was a great stay! I only deducted one star for it being dated and all brown.

It's right next to the ferry and is easy to find and when you arrive the staff was friendly and quite capable. This alone makes it better than many hotels. It's also right next to a pharmacy and a gas station which makes it perfect for anyone just beginning a road trip through Nova Scotia. Continuing on to Halifax a hundred plus miles away or sleeping in one's car as others have suggested makes no sense, and quite frankly there are no high end hotels in town as of yet. This is a simple fishing community, but sometimes simple is best.

I stayed here twice in the time frame of two weeks, once in the Motor Court Motel (see my review…read morefor the motel) and once in the B and B. The B and B is totally worth the upgrade and I highly recommend it. The rooms are spacious (although a little too cluttered with odd antique furniture for my taste), still the place was super clean and nice linens too. Mathew the host was terrific and very eager to help, I found him to be a gracious and honest individual. It's been a "thing" in Yarmouth that the CAT boat cancelled all sailing this summer 2019. If you book thru a hotel.com or other site you need to read the fine print about cancellations, I did and ended up driving to Yarmouth from Digby investing an extra 45 mins in the trip. With Booking.com to other sites there can be a penalty for cancellations and you need to be an adult about it. The breakfast here vs the continental is totally worth it so go with that option for sure.
