Nice enough guy. However, get a contract in writing if you engage him.
Had a job scoped out last fall. "No problem, can do it." Upgrading a cabin electrical system. Gave it to him in writing and also showed him around to scope the job.. Told him if I needed a bigger service, no problem, do it. He said it was better to do it in the Spring rather than the fall, and I agreed to his schedule.
We shook on it and after he looked at it again last, I spent 3 days running around getting parts, driving all around the Northland to do it. Today, he called and said it was more of a job than he wanted to do at this stage of his career.
Left me with no plan, over $1,000 in electrical parts, and no stove since we'd taken out our 115V stove to install a 220v one, part of the upgrade we'd asked for.
Gone are the days when a man's word is his bond. This disabled Vet doesn't have any electrical skills, and I'm back at square one.
Just know what you're getting into if you engage. read more
