I forgot to mention that they have a little museum, and some animals too. It's pretty cool.

Wisconsin Deer Park - Wisconsin Deer Park

Wisconsin Deer Park

(144 reviews)

Hands down, the best experience my son and I had during our (first) trip to the Wisconsin Dells!…read more My son and I absolutely love any close encounter experiences with animals, and this did not disappoint. The property is very serene and nicely maintained, and the deer seem genuinely happy, well cared for, and healthy. There is a wide variety of animals here besides deer, but the deer and goats are the only animals accessible to really hand feed. Swedish Wasa crackers are the only feeding option here, but the deer seem to love it! I believe we paid $8 a bag, and we got 4 bags, which lasted us through the entire park if you break each cracker into smaller pieces to feed. You walk through a nice nature loop, and the deer will often follow you. When the deer get full, they will retreat and lay down to a safe space. We seemed to come at a (perfect) slower time, around 2 pm, so we didn't have to deal with tons of other people, which was nice. There is a very nice gift shop where you pay entrance to the park. There is taxidermy on the walls, but they are former animals that used to live on the property. The employees were very nice and seem to very much love the animals here. In my opinion, this is the best money and experience you can have in the Dells, and my son and I cannot wait to come back!

I was very happy to find Deer Park open this last weekend. Now a couple of things to know about the…read morepre-season. 1. They only take cash - no credit cards. 2. There is an ATM in the gift shop area in case you don't have cash, it will have a line. So bring cash. 3. The deer food stands are closed in the park. 4. The deer food machines that take quarters are filled and work. (I did find one broken across from the Lama's) 5. You can get a roll or two of quarters from the ticket station. (Remember cash only) Pro-tips: * The deer like the corn/deer feed over the crackers. Buy one pack of crackers to feed the goats and Bison when you enter. * use your quarters to buy deer feed from the vending machines. Use that empty cracker bag to put your deer feed in. * chickens and birds prefer the deer feed (corn) over the crackers. * Read my previous review for more insights.

International Crane Foundation

International Crane Foundation

We are so lucky to have the International Crane Foundation in Wisconsin. Home to the most amount of…read morecrane species in the world! The park is accessible to all with wide, cement pathways. For those wanting to go on trails, they also offer loops off their paths. There are a few covered areas for viewing the cranes and lots of areas to sit and observe the cranes. Admission is $12 or you could buy an annual pass. They have a video you can watch first about their work prior to checking out the cranes. This is a great place to spend a morning, afternoon or even the whole day.

What I can say about this place is that if you're a fan of endangered species you would definitely…read morelike checking out the Crane Foundation. It's not exactly like a zoo either but it does have all the crane species here and the experiences feel up close and personal. Me and my wife came here to experience this place since this is kind of part of our Wisconsin Dells visit. The admission fee is fair for what you purchase. What I like about this place compared to your typical Zoo is that it's not full of people at all. There's limited parking and a money goes towards helping the cranes and helping their population grow. There's a lot to learn about the rich history of this species also there are plenty of short Trails too there's not any concession stands for food here at all which isn't a big deal at all either it's not a place that you need to check on every exhibit it's probably a hour hour to a hour and a half visit typically. They even have a little movie theater and a gift shop as well. The bathrooms are also very clean this place is a unique find so give this place a visit if you have the time
