Lance Macey (I cannot good faith call him Dr) has a horrible bedside manner. Incredibly rude. It cost me over $1000 for a consult and 2 x-rays which I did not need since 2 days earlier I had them taken at the hospital and he had access to them. He had no idea why I was feeling such pain. He just asked me what was going on and said he had no idea why I was in pain. I will never ever go back there. Totally unprofessional. He spent maybe 5 minutes with me and left. Sent an assistant in with 2 prescriptions and called it a day. Sad that this is the kind of treatment we get from this pompous coward. Coming in to a small room to meet with a patient with whom you've never met improperly wearing a mask in the middle of a pandemic is the height of arrogance and disrespect. I brought it to the attention off the staff upon leaving and I won't be returning. I will make sure that anybody I know looking for an orthopedic doc specializing in hips or knees is aware of my experience. Would give zero stars if possible. Son of patient speaking- did not call after surgery fully knowing wife had just recently passed away and only child was the next of Kin and emergency contact. After receiving no call post surgery, requested continuously for the next seven days to speak with the doctor and continue to receive no returned calls.Be very careful when you choose to have surgery with this man, he is interested in whatever new things are being marketed to him by third parties that he probably makes money from and so he pushes new ideas that are not always well practiced well on people. One such example is the post surgical treatment of Blood clots. Traditional procedure calls for the use of heparin while many physicians are turning to the use of new compression socks in the proper patient. Unfortunately Dr. Lance Macy decided that the proper patient for compression socks instead of heparin was a 70-year-old arthritic ridden double knee replacement patient who could not put the compression socks on because he was in so pain because his pain was being managed so poorly. Which I will address momentarily. But more importantly in capable of putting the compression socks on, and not having proper post surgical blood clot treatment, this patient ended up back in the hospital with every symptom of having suffered a series of micro strokes. The patient had a full MRI work up but unfortunately even with that you cannot always tell if there had been micro strokes and they could not rule it out. They ended up deciding that it was the symptoms of a bad UTI. It was the same hospital that the doctor is associated with and they work together and are part of the same network. Sounds fishy Huh: well that's because it was. Nuf' said. And most of the nurses seem to be shaking their head and smirking as the doctor explained that he could not rule out that there had been micro strokes but that there was no way that his lack of use of traditional medicine, such as a pill, for a geriatric patient that couldn't put socks on when he was in post surgical pain..no chance that may have contributed according to them. Right‍ Which brings us to the next issue. The man is a coward. He is afraid of the DEA. he is anti-opiate. And somehow he believes that a cross-practice generalized Policy is appropriate in medicine despite the fact that medicine is based on the premise that all patients are unique. My did not request meda and for six months he went through all post surgical non-opiate related alternatives. At six months post surgically, patient presented to the doctor in debilitating Pain almost unable to move. Aged at 71 now, out of shape like most of us from the pandemic and also from in -activity as a result of having lost his wife just a year ago. Having arthritis in every joint, Plantar fasciitis, fibromyalgia, And now presenting with new pain in the previously replaced knee as well as the same high level of pain demonstrated over the previous six months in the surgically replaced one from recently, he was denied meds or injections. it was suggested that he lose weight and try a third round of PT. And Instead, the dr. Made a fool of himself and Prescribed prednisone. Which the patient was already on and apparently the doctor hadn't bothered to look in the chart and see. Wow what a way to inspire confidence right!! Yes, a geriatric patient is certainly The right person to just keep throwing PT and tell to lose weight. What a creative approach. Still wouldn't even prescribed non-opiate pain med. LOL. Ridiculous. Avoid this man if you value your life. If your a family member or friend advise to avoid this doctor if you want to be able to ever speak to the doctor that's caring for your loved one. He doesn't care about the patient so he cares about you even less. Avoid this man if you want a doctor that won't hide behind statistics and fear of malpractice and medical reprisal rather than care for you properly. Avoid this doctor if you want a man with a back bone. Avoid this doctor if you desire empathy Avoid this man if you expect compassion from a doctor. Avoid this doctor if you expect him to get to know you by anything more than your first name as he will not get to know you as a patient and will treat you like an object. Don't expect him to remember anything about you ever. And if you still go to them not only don't expect him to get to know you, and Expect to be treated like a number or a statistic, but on top of it, if you speak up about it expect to be spoken down to as if you're inferior and the doctor is on Some moral high ground crusade. And most ironically expect to be told that the fact that he sees so many patients and is a very busy man (read he over books for extra profits) is why he doesn't remember the things that you wish he knew about you or doesn't study your chart history well enough.
