Food: Easily on par with some of the best restaurants in NYC. First off, the complimentary whole-grain bread they serve is delicious. Our first night, I had the squash soup to start which was outstanding, with a really nice depth of flavor. I followed that with the Crab ravioli which certainly lived up to the hype! Each ravioli encases an impressive amount of crab meat and the accompanying cream sauce makes for a truly divine main. My second night, I started with the ceviche and followed with the braised beef with pumpkin gnocchi, which were both very good, although out of everything I ordered, the crab ravioli reigned supreme. Drinks: I had a Manhattan each night, which was well-made. The bottle of Chilean Cabernet Sauvignon we ordered to accompany our meal had nice depth of flavor and went well with beef. Not only does this wine bar have the most extensive by-the-glass list I found anywhere in Santiago, they are also one of only two wine bars that keeps all of their wines in a temperature controlled area (very important--as most places don't have AC in Chile). All of the food I had was great--but my top favorites were the applewood smoked salmon, the loco plate, and the short ribs. I really enjoyed being able to try new wines from small, boutique producers in Chile (this is something you can only do in a few places in Santiago) and get recommendations from the really knowledgeable owner as well as the fact that they include a little tag on each glass so that you can keep track of what each wine in front of you is, if you do a flight of half glasses of wine like I did. The two best places for wines-by-the-glass and the best selection of wines from smaller producers are Bocanariz and Barrica94. No wine lover should leave Santiago without visiting both of these places.
