There are constantly long queues at the checkout. Usually only one register is open with a huge line of people waiting. Sometimes there are two, but only when it's extremely busy. The staff often seem gloomy and unwelcoming, and the whole place looks messy and unpleasant. In general, Lidl seems to be getting worse and worse. Other supermarkets now have self-checkouts that also allow you to pay with cash, which makes life much easier. Here, you often can't do that, which is frustrating--especially when you want to send your child to buy something and give them cash. Honestly, I can't stand this store anymore--neither this one in Bray nor any other Lidl. The only reason I still end up here sometimes is because Aldi doesn't have the same bakery selection. If they did, my foot would never step inside any Lidl again.

Anyhow, there is one thing which I really don't like - it is a very strong unpleasant smell of the fish counter. I don't know why, but it's really smells bad. Fresh fish NEVER should smell like this. And now with the dessert fridge located just besides the smelly counter I just don't care how good that cheesecake is, I won't go there.

Upon googling this on my ever useful smartphone we discovered that this was now the largest Tesco in Ireland. So on the way back to Dublin, we exited at junction 9, took the roundabout exit for Sallins and had a look. We needed to do a foodshop anyway. It is pretty impressive, lots of everything and as big as they say it is. It's also the only place where you can setup billed Tesco mobile phone accounts, according to their sales guy anyway. There are also a few other shops in the same complex like Argos, Vodafone, Boots and The Butchers Block. I can't really add much more than that, it's a Tesco. People know what to expect. Useful for when we are passing again.

It's nice to know where everything is no matter which one you might happen to go into to grab whatever groceries you need. They have a great section of fresh foods like the fruit, veg, bakery, meat and fish and they also have a brilliant health food and alternative foods section. It's an asset to the town and makes shopping very enjoyable as the ambience of the shop is so lovely now with the renovations!

As a tourist the only downside but also positive is that if you use your credit card you would need a supervisor approval, which for my husband and I, that took about 20 minutes for her to be located and come over, and two forms of ID with my husband having to sign with as much similarity to his ID and credit card signatures as possible. I realize that it is for our security which I appreciated, it was just the waiting time that kinda sucked.

It is just a GIGANTIC grocery store AND it has a Harold & Barrett (is that what it's called? I always get confused. Honnold & Barrett?), which is a bio store (health food center for you Americans). People even get their hair cut here. Actually Wexford Town Center has quite a few bio stores, which is insane and good. This Tesco is not far from the main streets, so you can walk to it. It is also a good place to walk around when it rains. They have a very good section of beer and wine as well.

Yes there are groceries and produces here, but there's also clothes, electronics, household items, books, etc. It's a big store and I've always been able to find what I'm looking for here. Prices at Tesco are pretty decent from what I've seen. Not quite as low as a Lidl or Aldi, but not as high as a Dunnes or Marks & Spencer. Since Lidl and Aldi has a lower selection it's nice to come to Tesco and do one stop shopping here. The Tesco is located on the upper floor of the shopping centre, but they have inclined flat escalators for shopping carts. There's a bathroom outside the Tesco on the upper floor that is clean and well maintained. Bus stops are located right outside, but for those with a car there is a car park here as well. I really like this Tesco and look forward to coming back here again.

The store was well laid out, bright, clean, organized and stocked will all the goods, fresh and packaged! We popped in after a few snacks to stock our nearby hotel room with and while we had a list of what we were after, I could not help but wander up and down each aisle. Always something new and exciting for me to waste time looking at...and I loved every minute of it! Service was friendly and helpful. Queues were moving quickly, always available staff on the aisles when needed. Only thing is they do not have a public restroom, so just in case you were in need during your trip in. Overall, solid shopping experience at my first Tesco!
