HOTEL PROPERTY MANAGER INSULTS LATE NIGHT CUSTOMER!!! Ok first of all, this was the 2nd time I had used this hotel because the first time I stayed there, it was for 4 nights. And the owner was onsite. He was very polite, reasonable, and helpful. This time was drastically worse. I called the hotel ahead of time to make sure the office would be open aftet hours and to make sure there were rooms available for rent. The woman who I spoke to informed me that they were open all night (like most hotels are) and that they did have rooms. When I showed up at the hotel at 1:45 AM with my 5 year old son, the office apeared to be closed, doors locked, all lights turned off. I rang the doorbell for assistance as the sign instructed and a woman came to the door wearing her pajamas. She peaked out the door, very annoyed and rudely asked, "Can I help you????" Her tone was as if she was very bothered by my attempt to come there and rent a room at 1:45 am. I was aware that SOME smaller family owned type motels might only rent rooms during certain times of the day, usually normal business hours, which is why I called ahead of time to make sure this was not the case. I very timidly replied
"yes I would just like to rent a room for the night"
In a very over the top aggressive manner, the woman(property manager) exhaled heavily, pushed the door open, and stormed back into the office and began slamming things around as she began the process. I was shocked by how angry she was and how obvious she was about her anger. I said " Im sorry, I was told via telephone that you were open."
She replied very rudely, "Im only one person! I have to sleep also!" She then aggressivly slammed an info card in front of me to fill out. I started to ask why she would claim to be open for renting rooms if it was a problem, but before i got the 3rd word out, she cut me off and yelled,
"Just fill out the card so I can go back to sleep!" I did, and went to the room. In the morning, I was hoping that the manager's aggressive behavior was only due to the fact that she answered the door very tired and perhaps after resting and thinking about it, she would apologize for her incredibly rude behavior. I can totally understand being frustrated and over worked and letting frustration get the better of a person. But at the time of check out, the woman was just as rude as she had been the night before, refusing to take responsibility, and speaking down to me in a very rude manner. The closest I got to an apology was something like.
"I'm sorry that I offended you, but too bad. I was tired. " At this point, I was angry, and began to make my point which was "If you didn't want to be 24 hour property manager, on call 24 7, why'd you take this job?" But before I could speak, I was told to get out of there! Even before I had recieved my deposit back. I demanded my deposit and left...
The actual room itself was fine for a cheaper motel, sheets were clean, room was clean. Working refrigerator, microwave, wifi, flatscreen tv. 70 dollars a night plus 10 deposit,
I will only return to Macdill Motel to speak with the owner, and ask him why such a polite, fair and reasonable owner would employ such a condescending, rude, and disrespectful woman S his "24 hour property manager?" Never again. read more
