Shazi was amazing. She made the whole divorce process manageable and positive. Going through a divorce can be so exhausting. Shazi kept in touch and made sure we were on the right path at all times. She didn't rush us, but let us go at our own pace. Shazi made sure we understood and were comfortable with each step and process. Mac Services seem to be a very clean and organized company. From a recommendation, we contacted Shazi Rastegar and the MAC Services Group to help mediate our divorce. When we started the process, our relationship was irascible and full of fear of what would come next or how we would find our way to a settlement. Not only did the very patient and diligent work Shazi put forth allow us to cut through the emotions and find a path that was copacetic, but through it, we found a way to be cooperative towards each other and create a separate space that was very supportive of our kids well-being and our needs. I have recommended Shazi to several others, and will continue to do the same should they find themselves in the unfortunate place of needing these services. It is certainly a far better option than getting expensive lawyers involved, who will take advantage of the emotional state and push towards lengthy and expensive court hearings. We managed to stay out of court entirely and get everything we needed handled with her guidance. read more

Shazi and MAC Services Group were a invaluable help for me and my husband as we went through our divorce. We are lucky that we are remaining friends and able to use a mediation service. I would highly recommend MAC Services Group for any legal counsel you may need. read more

We were seeking a skilled family law mediator to guide us through our divorce. Shazi is bright, energetic, knowledgeable, and well qualified for family law mediation. Our initial introduction session was excellent. She made such an impression on both my wife and I that we stopped interviewing mediators and enlisted her services immediately. She offered two packages: 1) flat fee for completing and filing forms and a block of mediation hours. Time beyond that was billed at her hourly rate; 2) Employ her services at her hourly rate and complete the forms and do the filing on your own. Since we had already completed the first two steps including completing and filing the forms, option 2 seemed the right choice us. We opted for the hourly approach. That's when the troubles began. She asked us several time if we wanted flat fee option and warned us we were on our own to complete and file the forms. We told her we understand and stood by our decision. She immediately seemed annoyed. She was courteous and showed us out of her office. Her demeanor was professional at all times except the slight hint of annoyance. She request we send send her "financial disclosures and accompanying statements and documents to the mediation session." I asked her specify the content and format she wanted for the financial disclosure statements. I wanted to bring the correct information to our first session to ensure our mutual productivity. We got an non-response stating again she does't help with completing or filing the forms. This became her theme in every subsequent communication. She never answered my questions regarding the financial disclosure statements. This kind of passive-aggressive behavior is unexpected from a professional attorney. It's apparent we erred in not taking the flat rate package. Don't make the same mistake. We took are (unwanted) business elsewhere. read more

I enjoyed having mediation sessions with Shazi. Shazi's mediation style is calm and reassuring as she skillfully rose to the challenge of mediating a complex disagreement between me and the person I was in conflict with. Based on my interactions with attorney Scheherazade Rastegar, I would recommend MAC as an office of legally competent, personally sympathetic, easy-to-work-with professionals. Ms. Rastegar has impressed me not only with her thorough understanding of sexual harassment issues in the workplace, but also with her ability to relate to other people and her sense of humor--she never takes anything lightly, but she is always able to keep a healthy, balanced perspective. Their downtown location may be hard for a Westsider like myself to get to, but the drive is well worth it. read more

Shazi came highly recommended and certainly exceeded all expectations. MAC Services Group is reasonably priced, and all fees where outlined upfront with no hidden costs nor anything unexpected. In addition to the fees being fair, Shazi is an amazing mediator.  She is a complete professional that still manages to offer a comforting human touch, which is much appreciated in going through something that can be heavy and "cold." Shazi was able to guide us through all the necessary steps from the preparation of forms, negotiations, and final paperwork. Prior to signing with MAC Services Group my ex-husband and I had filed our initial petition of divorce on our own through the court, and litigation was something that was looming over us. We were able to agree on working through mediation and Shazi jumped right in following up with our open court case and literally taking over everything for us simplifying the entire process and making every step easy and straight-forward. Shazi informed us of all of our options and educated us through the process. She was always available to answer any questions by email and even by phone! She kept us informed with updates, before we would even reach out for them. Although mediation is supposed to be the most "amicable" way to separate, there were moments when negotiating was not easy, and that was when Shazi was especially helpful in being able to step in and provide guidance and support, so that we could stay the course and reach an agreement through mediation. Shazi worked with us on creating timelines that were realistic and helped us stick to them so that we could finalize our divorce as quickly as possible. I would highly recommend Shazi, and MAC Services Group to anyone that is going through a divorce. read more

We made the best decision to use MAC Services Group to handle our divorce. Our mediator, Shazi Rastegar, was incredible throughout the process... She made us feel comfortable from day one, and communicated regularly to ensure the process was moving along. During the actual mediation, Shazi was very effective at helping us reach agreement on the few issues in which we were apart. In looking back at the "goals" we hoped to accomplish, I would say we checked all the boxes. Among them was to complete the process while maintaining a good relationship (especially for the sake of our children); and to both feel satisfied with the terms of the settlement.
