My significant other use to frequent here often. Erlinda knew him and I by name and has always been sweet and accommodating. The rooms are little small and cozy private suites. There isn't a lobby. The rooms are very clean. Erlinda cleans them all herself usually. This is one of the best little motels I've ever stayed in and always looked forward to coming back. It's a nice place to lay your head and relax. There isn't a pool due to the fact that you're in the mountains and it can and has snowed 12 months out of the year. If you have children, there's a park about 1/4 a mile away. A nice walkway by the gas station/convenience store on a side street to get to it.
There's a no pet policy because the rooms are very well furnished with apartment or home furniture. Not the cheap particle board crap. It's independently owned and managed. The rooms are decorated tastefully and feels like home. I, honestly wouldn't want to risk my rooms and furniture getting damaged by pets. There isn't a continental breakfast. You have to venture out in town. There are 4-5 restaurants within walking and driving distance. Some even just across the street. Most places in town besides the bars, close at 5pm. There's also the option of driving 20 miles or so for food. The closest town with food I think is Douglas. It's a neat adventure. Google and see what's available. I found a neat little gem that was a diner and an ice cream parlor that served ice cream late into the night in Douglas. You'll never know what you might find. During the winter storm advisories, make sure you're prepared for road closures. They do shut down highways out west. Not to scare or deter anyone. Just a heads up to be prepared. All in all, it's a beautiful place to stay and visit. A lot of beautiful scenery.
I hope that your stay at the Mabuhay is as pleasant as ours was. read more
